Met up with a group of about 80 Harley riders last night, sat in on their monthly H.O.G. meeting (it began with the pledge... Cats would've been thrilled), then rode for 45 minutes to some tiny town for a killer fireworks show.

My camera finally died for good, but I dutifully whipped out the cameraphone and got 2 shots:

My co-worker, who invited me...

Some of the bikes...

Then, the whole town turned into a parking lot as everyone tried to leave at once. I sat it out for 45 minutes, then finally took off with NO idea how to get home. Made it without much trouble.

Went to a bbq at a friend's house out in Logan Square. I ate some damn good food and watched some kid bat rocks into the window of the neighbor next door there. Good times.

Baby is asleep. And from our balcony we can see every fireworks display there is in the burbs southwest of us. We're talking about 40 displays here. Maybe more. It's fucking awesome.

And I'm drinking. Taking baby steps with alcohol, but nonetheless they are important steps.

I went to a baseball game with my dad, and watched fireworks at the stadium. I felt so American. Baseball, dad, fireworks, and blarin' "Livin' In America" & "Born In The USA". Damn, where's my slice of apple pie?

today's me and the mrs beachy's personal indie day: we arrived for good here on this little island 6 years ago this very day.
SO:
We could have gone to the US embassy's yearly BBQ but we worked at our restaurant instead. I ate an american can of soup, then drank some british gin and some Belizean beer, during which I consorted with a columbian, and spoke for a bit with some Canadians.
I Do love my alma mater nation, I just can't stand it's current Dean.
My wife would like to include that since we must be being watched, she loves the USA and despises me for my seditious comments and would like to request Sgt. Laswell when we get to Guantanamo ( wy does she know him?????)

FemGAR's boss' boss decided he wanted to "Get out in the field with the reps" and to that end is doing a ride along with her, today.

So, she had to get up at 5 am to be in LaGrange, GA by 7:45 CST. And, as many of you know, she up, we up. Those last 2 glasses of red wine SEEMED like such a good idea.

Yeah, I'm watching the minutes crawl by right now. I'm skinning out at lunch.

Went to Sam's yesterday and picked up 3 cases of beer, 2 Large bottles of wine, 2 regular bottles, some Knob Creek for good measure, and that's just for me and FemDerris.

Not without a pan. The drippings would turn into 3 foot tall flames once things got going. Otherwise yeah.

In a sad and tragic turn of events, Young Squirrgle, The Good Senator has been taken off bacon, and pretty much all fatty meats, and even the vegetables that are cooked in their renderings. I may go Budd Dwyer soon if something isn't done about this.

3 Minutes ago; Associated Press; Milwaukee, WI

KRAFT Foods stock tumbled this morning, falling a staggering 17.4% on news that its entire Meats division will miss sales forecasts by at least 20% for the foreseeable future. Sources indicate a loss of a major market player in the south.
