It's a slow grower for me, but it's weaseled its way into my top ten so far. It could even get higher by the end of the year.

That QOTSA record has slowly crept into my Top 5.

Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha is great too.

Completely agree.

I'm a-gonna throw that Panda Bear on the pile of favorites for '07. Person Pitch and Boxer are the only two releases that consistently deliver for me and have stood the test o' time. The new John Doe, Interpol, and Isbell discs are damn fine, but it's too early to gauge lasting power for any of 'em.

In what's become a 2007 trend for me, I LOVE half of this record. Opening track sometimes gets played 2 or 3 times in a row, especially when I'm riding.

not to mention interpol. seriously puzzles the shit out of me that this could be on anyone's best of anything list. i know i've said it a thousand times, but you seriously have to be able to find better things to listen to than fucking interpol.

pharoahe monch - desire

is really great.

off the top of my head i would include that and

liars
deerhoof
blonde redhead
marissa nadler
begushkin
mv/ee
alcest
ex-cocaine

I have this problem with a lot of newer albums--I blame albums being too long and Pro Tools for making it too easy to record an idea into a completed song. Either practice self editing, hire a better producer, limit yourself to the length of an LP, or just release EP's. Something.
