2:55...is the point in Wilco's Less Than You Think that I skip to the next track. I just don't have the patience to sit through the 12 minutes + of crap that follows.

What songs are perfectly nice to listen to until they dissolve in to some garbage that makes you hit that skip button?

Steve

there are a million of them - I always skip that crap. Wilco has quite a few, in fact.

I usually skip the first part of Layla and just listen to the piano part. Fucking owns, plus gets bonus points for scoring one of the best scenes in my favorite movie: Goodfellas. When they find Carbone it always gives me a chuckle.

"Spiders (Kidsmoke)" on that VERY SAME ALBUM is another perfect example of this phenomenon. Would have been great, had it been about 7 minutes shorter. Unfortunately, Tweedy just feels the need to repeat the same section of the song over and over, without artistic justification. He's a brilliant musician with some wonderful ideas, but he's too often victimized by his own genius.

Many of the songs on Olivia Tremor Control's Black Foliage have skip-able parts, in my opinion.
