First Max Richter US Live Appearance!!! Holy shit this is going to be absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!

Image

From the press release:
"Wordless Music is honored to host British composer and Fat Cat recording artist Max Richter for his first-ever U.S. concert appearance. On Wednesday, November 28, Max will perform selections from his albums Songs from Before, The Blue Notebooks, and Memoryhouse in the 300-capacity Good-Shepherd Faith Church alongside a full chamber ensemble and accompanying video projections. Also appearing will be the Minneapolis ambient/electronic composer and Ghostly International recording artist Cepia, as well as New York City pianist Assaff Weisman, who will perform solo piano music by Joseph Haydn and Olivier Messiaen."

Europe has been hogging Richter for too long. As part of the Wordless Music Series (wordlessmusic.org), Richter is finally making his US concert debut. It's the only scheduled date, so this may be your only chance to see him perform live for the foreseeable future.

Tickets just went up for sale today, but you should order quickly considering there are only 300 seats available.

Wednesday,
Nov. 28, 2007
Max Richter (w/Chamber Ensemble & Video)
Cepia
Assaff Weisman, Piano
Performing music for solo piano by Haydn and Messiaen
@ Good-Shepherd
Faith Church
Amsterdam Avenue & West 66th Street

If you have yet to hear Max Richter, you really need to sort that out. I can up some albums if you'd like.

So far, just listened to "Song" (also the vid), and I'm pretty interested. May well take the train ride up for this.

Good gawd!!! The tickets are only $20. I would easily pay $100 for this.

haha. i mean i've got a decent couch but you'd have to make your way out to long island and deal with my family...probably better places to crash in the new york metro area on this board. and i can't buy the tickets here at work but i'll pay for them later tonight if they're still available and if i get them you can consider the second yours

That's what I'm probably paying for the train tickets. Unless I drive up, in which case, that's what I'm paying in gas.

I think it is the week before. I figured you just celebrated it the entire last half of the month. Or something.

DO IT. Do it now.

I may have to take you up on that offer; and there's no way I'm passing you up this time, lest I get my arse kicked.
