Well, there's this one:

And then, when I was a DJ in college, I would actually skip this record in rotation because I thought it was just gonna suck, based on the cover. Boy was I wrong:

Now, remember these are only EXCELLENT albums with TERRIBLE album covers.

Midnite Vultures is worse but it's at the bottom of my list of Beck albums.

For myself, I just can't match the music and the art. I love the album, but when I see the cover, I pretend somebody burned the cd for me and put their own "cover" on it.

I might not consider this an excellent CD, but it's damn good...with a horrible title & an even worse cover.

Yeah I think that's true. I was just thinking like PT that if I had come across that album without ever having heard it before or knowing of Beck I probably would've cast it aside. As with everything it's such a matter of taste. I like the cover of that Cream album for instance.

With that said...that Huffamoose album is pretty damn scary looking.

What would be the reason I can't delete my own post?

This is one of my favorite albums but I don't know if it qualifies as being excellent on a universal level. I always found the cover disturbing though.

I didn't think anyone else had this. I'm a huge fan.

Have you got any more 77's discs? I've got a 77's comp I made, if you'd like to hear it, lemme know.

There's an article in the latest Sacramento News & Review w/ Michael Roe- check it out at www.newsreview.com

Yeah I saw that article. A more direct link is right here: http://www.newsreview.com/issues/sacto/ ... /cover.asp

It's one of the best interviews I have read, despite thet fact that they keep bringing up the Christian rock thing - which the 77s never really were (not anymore than U2, Pedro or SDRE anyways). It even brought up some historical aspects of the band's career I didn't know.

I have pretty much all of their stuff aside from a few obscurities like their fan club only releases. I'm waiting for their new disc in the mail. They're calling it Fun With Sound. They don't consider it an actual 77s record because Bruce isn't handling drum duties. Instead, it's a "7 and 7 is" record - which is what they call records that aren't Mike Roe solo albums, but are not really 77s albums. But the kicker of this album is - Aaron "A-Train" Smith is handling drum duties from what I understand. He was the drummer for the 77s during their prime (1984-1994).

Not just a bad cover, but one that made them pony up some dough to Gene Simmons.

I cast my vote for this one:

It's my all-time favorite album, but what a shit cover. Thankfully one of the inside panels is passable looking, & you can fold the booklet in a way to make the passable pic the "front cover" .
