So

Here is a brief synopsis.

Last Saturday, I call my local cleaners to come and pick up my laundry. It's cheap. they wash, fold, and return it to me in 24 hours.

I confirm with my doorman, that it was picked up on Saturday.

It slips my mind, and by the following Thursday, I realzie it has not come back yet.

So I check with my doorman....no laundry.

i call the place.....they have no record of having a pickup scheduled for me....

mind you, this is the only place I use, and accorsing to my doorman, 90% of my building who have their clothes picked up is from this place.

the next morning, friday, i goto the cleaners directly to confront them...

they show me the computer....they had not charged my credit card.

They said perhaps another cleaner picked it up by accident?? or maybe they picked it up, but charged it to the wrong account, and delivered it to another building , and that i should check the surrounding building in my area...... i do all that, and come back with nothing...

Now, who is to blame for this??

If they did not charge my credit card, it is fair to believe perhaps that they never got my laundry? or did they lose it or ruin it in the process, and are hiding their tracks?

is it my doormans fault, that he possibly let it go to the wrong cleaner?? but wouldnt the other cleaner, return the clothes, saying they dont have me on account or whatnot?

or am i to blame? for not doing my own laundry, and this is a wake up call for me to stop relying on others?

pardonthe spelling and grammar..im kind of flustered here.

someone is paying for my missing laundry!

whoever is to blame, it's not your avatar

Edit: Look for someone else in your building who is wearing your clothes.
I bet it got picked up with another persons laundry, and returned to them.
Also scour local vintage shops and bums for your items.

i would say its the doormans fault. but that depends how convinced you were about the laundromat getting the clothes or not. you could always just beat people up and take their clothes. although, if i was in the situation i would only get a bunch of lady clothes.

The thought of having to get some new clothes is cool...

I didnt lose too much i dont think...

a pair of jeans i liked....
alot of socks, underwear, and t-shirts i liked....

so, thats not such a big deal...

its the other items, which i dont really inventory when i send em out, and probably wont even know im missing till one day i have the urge to wear...

i know a twilight singers t-shirt is in there....and possibly a few sweaters, and nice work shirts, but im not sure...

im just pissed... they have to be somewhere.....

I say it's Helena Bonham Carter's fault for stealing the clothes out of the dryer, then selling them at that thrift shop while Ed Norton chased here down the street...

I have it on good authority that Helena Bonham Carter has the worse case of B.O. since man was walking the earth with his knuckles scraping the ground.

Not that that has anything to do with this.

When I was in the Air Force I was doing laundry in the dorms and I took my laundry out and someone had stolen a pair of jeans and a fake calvin & hobbes t-shirt that my cousin had sent me from her school. So I was with my friend one day and we're walking downstairs when I see this dude wearing said shirt. So I stop him and say 'Hey that's a nice shirt. Where exactly is that college?'. Motherfucker didn't even know. I didn't get my stuff back but I guess he got kicked out of the AF a few months later for...stealing.

I really have nothing useful to add, so I'll just state that I can do ALL of my laundry in just one load. I have spent less than $200 on clothes in the last 4-5 years...and it shows.

I live in an aprtment building that happens to have a doorman. Some in NYC do, some don't. When I went to buy my place, that was one of the things I wanted.

It costs me bout $20 bux to do my laundry (have it picked up, washed, folded, and sometimes returned.)
The machines in my building are $2.00 for the washer, and $2 for the dryer... When I did do my own laundry, I used three washers, and two dryers......That's 10 bux right there...Sometimes if my clothes didnt dry well enough, I gave em a second go through....Thats either another 2 bux or 4 bux.....

Average it out.....$13.00 (plus the cost of detergent and dryer cloths), plus 3 hour process of washign and drying, ontop of the fact that there are 115 apartments in my building making me have to do my laundry at 11pm at night.......

I have no problem spending $20 bux which involves making a phone call, and dropping a bag off with my doorman, and coming back 24 hours later to clean, dry, folded clothes ...Most of the time that is....$7 bux more for all that conveinence.

Nope, not a millionre, but im doing my darndest to get there!
