Please POST IN THIS THREAD if you're in or out. Please DO NOT post the tune you have chosen in this thread though. Thanks. :)

Try and keep the tune between 4-5 minutes long.

You have 2 weeks from today (Feb 29th) to get me the tune and review/story.

Upload your tune here: http://www.mediafire.com

Have fun :)

We're a community.

We dig music.

We should make a CD compilation once a year, with artwork n shit, that each one of us can cherish.

When the compilation is sorted, I can make a cover, complete with personal reasons why each tune was chosen, we can burn the cd's, and send them out, or upload links for folks to download.

it might be difficult to fit 20 tracks on a cd, depending on what songs are chosen.

Why don't we vote for who gets to choose the tracks?

We democratically elect noble representatives to act on our behalf, rather than voting for the tracks themselves (which in the past has proven divisive, to say the least).

Some of the people who post a lot have shitty taste in music.

I'll get some Black Oak Arkansas on this mix if it's the last thing I do.

It doesn't have to be a CD, it could be a virtual mix.

And I agree with the vetting -- I know my taste is weird by the standards of most of the obnish, but I'd try and pick something that y'all'd like.

How about we take the first page of posters (35) or so, and put it to a vote (say, 17)?

And I think one should automatically exclude anyone who hasn't posted since, say, February 1.

It's not a popularity contest...no, wait, yes it is.

Actually, now that I think about it, everyone (who wants to) should supply a track, and we should vote based on the track. Or we could just keep them all. And then people can put together their own compilations of their favourite 17 tracks. And then we can vote on who put together the best compilation.

And then...

And then...

(goes into infinite loop, brain explodes)

there's no voting on tracks at all. it's posters picking their tune for the mix.

Ok, for the First Annual Mix, here's the first 20:

Shiv
Drinky
Mick the Stripper
Splates
discostu
Grape Ripple
nobody
Cotton
Rick Derris
Dusty Chalk
Flying Rabbit
Odds Bodkins

You have been chosen, like it or not. If there's some reason you don't want to be included, let me/us know.

If you're in, search for your tune now, write your description, and send me a link and the info to the tune.

If we have to delete some to fit it on to a cd, i'll gladly delete my tune.

Looking forward to his.
And, for the record, I wouldn't put any Shrimp Boat or Tom Ze
;)

Oh there's lots more that I truly love. Just that those would be too obvious.
Hell, I'll send you a song and a blurb anyway and you can decide for yourself whether or not to include it.

I don't give a crap who's on the "list". I just wanna see the tracks they come up with. Oh, and hear them, too.

the 5 or 6 that you think are good choices could end up picking crap tunes, while the others pick some interesting stuff you've never heard.

this can be fun.
