there's a small sam adams recall:

Quote:
The Boston Beer Co. is recalling certain bottles because of glass in the brew. The company posted the following message on its website:

During a routine bottle inspection at one of our breweries, we detected possible defects in a small percentage of bottles resulting in the random presence of bits of glass, most the size of grains of sand, but some small slivers in some bottles as well. Based on this sample, we quickly began testing bottles of Samuel Adams at all of our breweries and identified that the problem appeared to be isolated to a single glass plant of the five that supply us.
If you are opening a cold one, read the bottom of the glass. The Herald notes that the skunked Sam Adams bottles "are embossed with the letter 'N,' followed by the number '35' and the letters 'OI.'" Those with bad bottles will get a refund.

In other news: George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers have pulled their song from the Sam Adams spots, and the burly, bald, bearded guy from the commercial is now fired.

What's a little glass?

Feh. They can just call it a seasonal brew.

It's not a favorite, but it's not that bad. Plus, I'm the girl who'll drink anything you put in front of her.

I just wanted to be marginally clever; and even then I didn't really succeed.

Yeah I know what she means. It's not a bad beer, but I almost never order it. It tastes like Athens, 1995.

Sam Adams is gross.

I sure they're good people and love their work and all.
But their beer sucks.

Yeah the summer ale is great. It's still kinda heavy-handed, which is a disease that afflicts almost all their beers... no subtlety. But it's good.

stella is overrated in general.

Stella, Heineken, and Sam Adams should be relegated to third-tier status.

I was going to start my own thread until this got posted, but I suppose we don't need two threads about beer on the front page. My roommate's 21st birthday is tomorrow, so:

What do you guys think is the best beer that you can get a 4-, 6-, or 12-pack of for under $10? He didn't get my other roommate or me anything for our birthdays, so I'm not looking to spend big.

i think sam adams is a tad above these, maybe in the second tier.

also in the fourth tier is Rolling Rock.
