Fresno is great. If LSU doesn't do it, I'm pulling for them & UGA.

I'm glad that Fresno St. beat UNC yesterday. We have a much better chance of beating UNC once, then Fresno twice instead of vice versa.

Up one game, up in the second game thru four... Not an historic choke, but certainly, a candidate for choke of the year.

Congrats Monty. Feel better?

How badly were you Baby Storkin when you posted this?

We ran into a team on fire and we were lucky to win the first one in that series. Congrats to them. Even though college baseball isn't as high on my fandom list as football and basketball I was still pulling for the Dawgs and it sucked to lose. Still, solid achievement to make it as an 8 seed.

And sorry, choke of the year still belongs to the Pats.

While I was pulling for the Dawgs and am righteously disappointed in the loss I gotta say that college baseball is just about the most boring fucking sport on the planet...Agony.

It's Super Regional Time, and I though I would post on it, despite the fact that Nebraska was absolutely terrible this year.

I'm really hoping someone knocks off Texas, and the SEC and ACC should feel like complete crap if they don't each have a representative in the title match up. They both have four teams and two national top 8 seeds remaining.

I'm mostly pulling for Arkansas, but wouldn't mind seeing Southern Miss, Ole Miss and Louisville make it to Omaha and do well.

Next year the new stadium opens up in Omaha for the CWS.

A while after the fact, but how's about UT winning a 25 inning game last weekend? Thing I can't get over is the relief pitcher coming in seventh inning, dealing 12 and a third innings of no-hit ball and not getting the win. Unbelievable.

Yeah, that an Ohio State being destroyed by Georgia 24-8 and Florida State 37-6 were the big news stories last week from the Regionals. I guess that Virginia should get some props for eliminating Stephen Strasburg , the supposed "Best prospect of all-time".

Arkansas was on a roll this past weekend, knocking out the overall #7 seed Oklahoma, but Florida State in the Super Regional is a very difficult matchup for the Hogs.

Rain-delayed game already in Tallahassee.

I thought he gave up two hits. In any case, remarkable performance. 169 pitches. Let's see a Major Leaguer do that in this day and age of the specialist and the huge contract.

I'm excited for LSU's chances this year more than last mainly due to their pitching. Legit aces in their Nos. 1 and 2 and a cold-blooded closer. Rice won't be a picnic, though.

You obviously didn't just watch the UVA/Ole Miss game.

FAIL (from a baseball coach)

Arkansas (led by former Nebraska head coach Dave Van Horn) beat FSU today 7-2 in a game that had 6 hours of rain delays.

One more, baby!!!

I saw they were leading in the fifth while briefly watching the Virginia game on ESPN. Van Horn was great, but the coach at Texas A&M who used to be Nebraska's pitching coach is the guy I miss.

He gets a free pass for this year. Baylor was also fairly weak, and both they and the Huskers are fairly reliable Big 12 teams to make the NCAA tournament. This was his first losing season. His major issues is that the supposedly wonderful recruiter who also serves as the Pitching coach hasn't recruited any pitchers who are like Joba Chamberlain.
If they suck next year, I see him getting canned and them giving somebody a chance from a lower division team or an SEC assistant once again.

The Hogs are going to Omaha. They beat FSU in a 9-8 thriller. They were leading the Seminoles 7-5 in the 9th after scoring 5 runs in the 7th to take the lead. The Seminoles then took the lead in a two out rally in the top 9th, but Arkansas came back to win in the bottom of the 9th.

THAT was wild!!!

Down to the last strike twice in the top of the 9th, FSU rallied with a couple of BIG doubles off of Arkansas' usually reliable closer.

Then, after getting the first out in the bottom of the ninth, Arkansas got a couple of base runners on, and then Andrew Darr hit a huge double to knock in the tying & winning run!!!

Go Hogs!!!!!

Cal St. Fullerton & LSU both made it in today as well. Cal St. Fullerton (probably the team playing the best baseball right now) will be the matchup for Arkansas in the first round of the CWS.

Virginia forced a third game with Ole Miss and the rest of the series' have just completed their first game today.

LSU is hurting Arkansas. How LSU wasn't at least a 2 seed is a mystery to me. If we don't win #6 this year, it may be a while.

Also, Erin Andrews may be illiterate.

LSU looks stout. I was happy that Dave Van Horn finally won a CWS game, but didn't expect the Hogs to do much. I have a feeling that Virginia may eliminate them in the next game.

I'm not sure what will happen in the Texas/Arizona State game tomorrow and if UNC can bounce back from that extra inning loss to ASU.

A little factoid for the ACC fans: The ACC hasn't won a CWS since Wake Forest 1955, since Miami wasn't a member when they won in 2001.

Yeah, I'm thinking Virginia may knock the Hogs out as well on Wednesday...

My bet for the final is now looking like LSU - Arizona State.

If I hear "small ball" again, somebody dies. As good as Karl Ravech is on baseball tonight, he's that bad here. Also, LSU has won its first two games with their two starters pitching with much less than their best stuff. ASU's two starters are scary, though.
