The one good thing about this is that they are leaving the team name and colors in Seattle. Would have been nice if the Titans had done the same thing when leaving Houston as the Oilers. The Texans is such a shitty franchise name.

Probably something tornado-related, like Twisters or some such.

Good call.

I'm now a Blazer fan.

Wouldn't this be the perfect opportunity to throw your support behind your adopted hometown and root for the Jazz?

Living here as a Sonic fan has made it rough for me to root for the Jazz--not so much the last 3 years as the Sonics have been terrible, but prior to that, when both teams were good and playing each other in the playoffs, Jazz fans could be pretty obnoxious.

Portland also has a couple of Seattle/UW boys to root for---Brandon Roy and Martell Webster, as well as Nate "Mr. Sonic" McMillan as head coach. So it's a no-brainer where my new allegiance will be.

Honestly, I'll probably not follow the NBA very closely anymore. This Sonic debacle has left a bad taste in my mouth.

I don't like it when they do this. The Ravens are the Browns. They have the history. The new Browns don't have 50 years of continuity. They don't have the same rosters/coaches/etc. Warren Moon is a part of the "Titans" history, regardless of team name/colors if you ask me.

Plus, you can end up with things like the Washington Senators-->Twins.
Washington Senators (2)-->Rangers.

Losing the Jazz royally sucked. I feel for Seattle.

Am I the only one who finds NBA games incredibly boring to watch? Little, if any, defense, no one really hustles, mostly just a bunch of dudes standing around and watching whoever has the ball. The NBA doesn't hold a candle to the NCAA.

Baltimore Colts
Brooklyn Dodgers
Boston... Milwaukee... Braves
Minnesota North Stars

All long-time, well-established franchises with at least one full generation of fans that got left behind.

The Philadelphia As still have more championships in Philadelphia than any other franchise :(

I'm hearing the OKC Thunder...

The owner of the franchise is making a serious mistake not going with the name "Oklahoma" tho. They are going to depend on Tulsa and other surrounding cities and using Oklahoma City is turning off alot of potential fans given they snuck in some statewide funding to get this team here.

The Thunder, Bwahahaha
We had an ABA or USBL team here in Lincoln called the Thunder. They played their games at the arena I work. Nobody ever attended those games.

Quad City Thunder? As essential in the CBA as the Albany Patroons.

I'd be good with the Oklahoma "We kick Nebraska's Ass" but it might be too long to fit on the jersey.

When two semi-pro basketball teams with the same name fold, one would think you would avoid calling a third team that name.

You do have surprisingly low gas prices, but I take the CWS over the Women's CWS.
Omaha once had the Kings, so we already failed in our attempt to have an NBA franchise.
I'd be more jealous if you were getting an NFL or NHL franchise.

The fact that the question "remember the CBA?" sometimes ends with "yeah, didn't Isiah Thomas own it at one point?" should have prevented a franchise such as the Knicks from hitching their wagon to that particular star.

which is bs, and yes I'm from Bmore, so I'm biased, but the Browns also got their franchise back, unlike us in Baltimore.

Yeah, but you had a Super Bowl winning team before the Colts won one again, that's something Cleveland didn't have a chance to get.

Horrible excuse. If the Browns didn't leave, they still wouldn't have had a SB winning team. The fact is, Taglibooboo had the chance to give us a team with the expansion--The Baltimore Bombers. Instead he gave them to Carolina and Jacksonville. I'm not saying taking a team from Cleveland was right, but they had a team and their colors/unis back within a few years. That's bs.
