I've been invited to mine by a friend I still keep in touch with and coincidentally will be in town when it happens

should I go?...and what do people wear to these things?

your experience and advice could help sway my decision here

I was a little disappointed in mine.

We had a cocktail hour type get-together on a friday night and then a supposedly more-formal dinner and dance thing on saturday.

I essentially talked with everyone I wanted to catch up with on friday, and probably could have saved a few bucks by not attending the dinner.

I don't know what sort of high school you attended, but dress fairly casual. We were suppose to dress in casual business attire for the dinner, but most people wore shorts due to the heat. I would have dressed in my normal indie attire, had I known everyone was going to be lax about it.

Enjoyed my fifth, though the best part was Friday's stag night and Saturday's post-dinner bonfire at a friend's house. I wished I made the tenth, where the semiformal dinner was actually held at the school and looked like a good time. This year is #15, and everyone is pretty meh about it.

Ask Yourself

A) Are you better looking than you were in HS
B) Is Your S.O. a bit out of your league
C) Are you more successful than anyone thought you would be
D) Did you even like anyone in HS.

I'd say if you got 2 out of 4...go.

Just got my 20-year invitiation last night.

I didn't go to the 10-year becasuse HS seemed a little too close at the time. But I will be going to this one, because I feel removed enough from it all now and there are enough people that I would like to see.

Don't care about any of the above criteria, except for "D". And really, that's all that matters.

Ditto. My 20 yr is next year. My best friend and I had made a decision we at least go to this one, with our husbands of course. We DID however go the party the night before the 10th. It was held at this Irish bar owned by one of the girls we went to school with. That was actually fun. The actual 10 yr, nuh uh.

For reunions in general I always figure if I gave a fuck about any of those people I would see them more then once every ten/twenty years. School's out...let it go.

Troll for pussy you couldn't get in HS - someone will have been divorced by now.

Ooooh yeah. "Let's play a game called 'I've wanted to do this since 1994.'"

I agree. If you're already in town and it's no hassle it might be worth your time. I skipped mine and have absolutely no regrets about doing so.

But Loog was right last time we talked about this: it's fun to see who caught The Fat and The Ghey.

Besides Femjack and myself, there were about 10 others in my graduating class. The only dancing I could see with those people would be on their graves.

This is a good test, although I think I'd weight D significantly more than the others, unless you're a real narcissistic ass. I think I'm rolling about 3.3/4 on this, so it's an easy call. I bought plane tickets to my 10-year yesterday.

I was on the swim team and had lots of fun with those guys. A great group, although not one that I was necessasarily going to keep in-touch with. Plus, a lot of them became scattered around the country and the world.

It'll be good to see those guys again.

My 10th is 26th July at Long Wong's in Milwaukee. If any Obners MKE want to go, posing as me, feel free; the more, the merrier.

WE ARE ALL MONTY.

Rest assured, I am not going, though the prospect of a Brewers game following drinks/food is tempting. If I could know Sabathia is pitching that evening, I'd prolly go. But I don't, so no.

Plus, at least one I know I don't want to see will be there. Prolly several. It would not be a good scene.

I haven't been to any of mine. The first one was because I was out of the country and the rest have just been mostly disinterest from me. I never really hung out with anyone in my graduating class, mostly because I was a year younger and most of my friends were in the grade below me.

i had one girl tell me how much she loved me in high school and another sat on my lap and tried to get me to come "hot tubbing" with her at her house. could have been a real disaster but I maintained my fidelity.

I don't think my K-12 school holds them. It would really be hard to get the twenty kids from my class together for a party, though.

Either way I have no opinions/thoughts to share.

I skipped my 10 year reunion. Got dressed, made up a story about what I'd been up to for the last ten years, started walking to the train to make the long haul to the suburbs and then didn't go. I ended up having sex instead, so that was a bonus. Two of the guys who went to the reunion are dead now, so I guess that's kind of a bummer.

If I were you, I might go just to say, "Look at me, bitches. I live in Hawaii."
