I keep seeing them in mainstream publications, but have heard no mention in these parts. Sounds semi-intriguing. Any opinions? Anyone got it?

If you can see them live, I'd recommend them. I've found them to be incredibly sexy onstage. It's just the guy and the girl. He plays his guitar, accompanied by a drum machine and an occasional tambourine. It may sound minimalistic, but they can rock it hard.

I'm not huge in shows, and live in the middle of nowhere these days...I was wondering more if the albums are worth picking up.

Senator: I actually live two blocks away from the boom boom room. It's a cool little club across from the fillmore, where they play a lot of jazz and funk sorta acts, but other types of musicians play there also. Beulah used to play there before they broke up.

The Boom-Boom room is a place where we have a few enterprising young ladies come over after work....

It's Big Boi from Outkast's basement studio/poolroom/blunt factory.

I co-opted it. Amateurs borrow, pros steal.

Female singer's hot as hell. Music's only hot enough for a good tan. Haven't bought the album, so don't know what I'd think on repeated listens.

Depending on how bored I get next week, I may pick this bugger up.

I like what I've read, especially the part about the singer being from Florida, and hating the sunshine.

I owe you a CD from the Oscar pool---do you want a burned copy of Keep On Your Mean Side instead of a mix?

Just let me know.

I listened to the new one, No Wow, the other day. It was good enough that I listened to it all the way through.

I prefer the LP over the Ep. If you can check out the song Monkey 23. It's the main reason to buy the album. They'll be opening for Bloc Party on the upcoming tour.

Love this new album of theirs No Wow. If you like the more bluesy but raw PJ Harvey songs you'll like it.

Now I have to go back and find all of their earlier stuff.
