Good point. Maybe one of those Important Bands will release a record to give everyone a reason to live again.

I won't reveal which album is currently in the lead, but I will note the following:

Of the 5 proper lists that I have received and tabulated, Van Morrison's Astral Weeks is the only album to appear on every single one.

I'd be interested to see which bands/artists show up most frequently too.


Of course, that would be biased toward bands who have released many multiple albums and I'm not expecting anyone to tally that up but I think it would be interesting...

Of the 9 lists I've received, 3 of them have either been missing a number or had the same album twice.

I submitted my list today, with one minor correction. I decided that I really do like The White Stripes Elephant more than De Stijl.

I don't think anything on my list will end up making an impact on the overall list.

Exactly. I was re-listing to that Archer Prewitt and thinking "there's no way this could be on my top 100 and not Weatherthans". So I took it off, pushed something down and put the Weakerthans where they rightfully belong.

there's still lots of people's lists I'd like to see..cotton, shiv, crack, whiney, konstantinl...to name a few...

Now that you've mentioned his name, Whiney is likely to at least reply to this thread.
