"Tell No One" - It was OK. Tonight, I'm watching "The Last Mistress"...hope it doesn't disappoint, Catherine Breillat is hit or miss with me.

Saw "Tropic Thunder" last night. (Enjoyed it) Getting ready to watch the Lost Boys sequel now. (Probably won't enjoy it)

mtv has had a couple decent releases (hustle & flow, murderball, um......napoleon dynamite) and you'd think the director of boys don't cry could at least muster up something that wasn't totally embarrassing but this was just pathetic.

I liked it. The plot did get a bit convoluted, and perhaps rather unbelievable, but I still enjoyed it.

Yeah, it wasn't bad. It kept my interest. I thought the ending was a bit cheesy but no big deal.

So I just got back from watching The Last Mistress. I loved it.

Anybody see The Wackness? It's been in the arthouse theatres all Summer tempting me, but it just doesn't look interesting enough.

I thought the same thing. But then again it's rare I go crazy for a thriller anyway

Man on Wire & Frozen River however were both very good. And then I find out Petite is good friends with Werner Herzog, why didn't he make this film? Either way it's a pretty incredible story and truely inspiring and not that fake Hollywood overcoming odds feel good released in Jan/Feb NAACP Image Award Winner BS kind.

Just watched Blade Runner for the first time from beginning to end. I actually bought it a long time ago and only got through 3/4 of it at the time, but I read an article about it recently and decided to give it another chance.

So I got me a beer, baked some motherfucking cookies and forced myself to finally watch the entire thing. Well, it was probably the best decision I made all week because I definitely have a much better appreciation for it now.

In fact, I'd gladly watch it again this afternoon, but I'm about to see Tropic Thunder in a few minutes. :)

Went to Pinneapple Express this weekend. Meh...I didn't laugh nearly as much I thought I would. The opening scene with Bill Hader was pretty great.

Last week I watched Roman Holiday with my wife.
Audrey Hepburn is so beautiful and so damn charming that it hurts.

Dan in Real Life was much better than I was led to believe. At this point I'd even call it underrated.

I agree with this part. Even despite my general ambivalence toward Steve Carrell.

I saw a preview for this and am really looking forward to it:

Dan in the Real Life is one of THE WORST movies i've ever walked out on after seeing half of. I demand that the people that like it explain how they think the plot is creative/unpredictable/interesting/believable/entertaining/comical... or at least explain why you don't think this movie is one of the larger piles of shit you've seen.

Sure, it followed a formula, like 99% of all the other romantic comedies out there. I don't think anyone is arguing that Dan In Real Life should be given Oscars or was the indie movie of the year for it's narrative and technical ingenuity and innovation. However, for what it was, it was entertaining. I can think of a whole hell of a lot of movies far worse than Dan In Real Life.

Not but really...nice soundtrack by Sondre Lerche, nicely shot, I actually do like Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche. I'd watch again.

Admittedly, I can't stand the genre, and I have seen WORSE also.
But... to have the MAIN character be so unfunny...when he actually is fully capable of being hystercal = total letdown.
... Wedding Singer at least had Steve Bushemi.
Something About Mary had Brett Favre AND a retard.
This was really bad.

I watched Raising Arizona last night for the first time in years. Terrible acting but almost seemed stylistic.
Much better than I expected.

i thought dan in real life was alright. certainly not in the running for worst movie status.

the 'this corn is like an angel' line was the best.
