At least with the last five, I might not have been overly familiar or in love with them myself, but I could understand why people would be and I can accept them as classics.

I don't know how anyone can actually still listen to and enjoy Nevermind or The Bends.

They seem to have a problem with your signature. That's all.

Seriously? Nothing. I merely have different tastes than the average modern indie-rock fan in that I'm not very interested in generic grunge and britpop.

The Bends is the only one that seems out of place.

Nevermind & The Bends - Like both of these. Each would have made my last listmania. I haven't listened to either in years.

Blood on the Tracks - How was this not on my list? One of my favorites. Idiot Wind and Simple Twist of Fate never fail to have an emotional impact on me. Dylan really nails the experience of having a relationship fall apart. Also shows his enormous ability as a songwriter. I've never heard anyone move through different types of writing with ease it seems like Dylan could.

Doolittle & Rubber Soul each made my list.

nevermind - i can't really quibble with this one. so overplayed I have no need to ever hear it again, though. but at least hit helped push metal back to the dungeon masters' lairs and meth trailers where it belongs.

the bends - radiohead's best album and one of the best albums of the 90s. of course it didn't make my list.

blood on the tracks - unfuckwithable, and anyone who disagrees with me should really just go jealousjockey tonight

doolittle - man, a lot of mothafuckas voted for this one. it's a great album but should not be this high. broad appeal = high ranking, though.

rubber soul - can't argue this either.

and alongwaltz and mick, you guys are seriously insane with your comments re: these albums. i understand you are young, but jesus h. christ.

I don't know, you can't fuck with Nevermind. I don't give a shit about production blah blah blah, it's still a great rock and roll album. I like a few songs on The Bends, but it's not an album I'd ever consider great in a million years. Doolittle is great, but after hearing it I always want to hear Surfer Rosa right after. Which is not a slight on the album, it's like having a t-bone and then craving a bigger chunk of tenderloin.

Blood on the Tracks is one of my favourite Dylan albums, but I have to be in the mood for it, as opposed to Highway 61 which I could play 24/7. Rubber Soul is one of my favourite Beatles records. I'm not a real serious Beatles fan, by which I mean I have all their albums, I only listen to them on occasion, but when I do its this album the other soon to be ranked.

hey if you are the guy who can reduce these 5 discs to "generic grunge and britpop" then its probably not worth the argument

Actually, most of these could have potentially made my list (except Nevermind - decent album, way overplayed. Does this demerit it? I say yes), it's just all of them together in this run of 5.

i dont understand your point at all. isnt't the top 20 of any best of album list going to be fairly predictable?
