Posted early as I won't be online tonight or tomorrow morning.

Pavement - up 9
Beach Boys - down 5
Beatles - up 9
Radiohead - down 5
Stones - up 77

That about sums up this version of Listmania, I think.

Pet Sounds never clicked with me. I need to give that another fair shake. Neither has Pavement, though a whole lot less effort will be applied there.

No surprise at seeing Radiohead, nor any real qualms... though that album didn't make my list.

That is probably my second favorite Beatles album. Good to see it represented.

I have two on my list. I think I've never heard any album of pavement. is it worth it?

Crooked Rain being this high up is the first honest-to-god TRAVESTY of this list. What are you motherfuckers huffing?

Fuck the Beach Boys. They helped ruin music.

Abbey Road is cute. I guess cute roolz now or something.

And of the "classic run" of Stones albums, I find Let It Bleed the weakest. It's got some undeniably great songs, but some of the Stones at their laziest too.

There may have been one more album on this list. Didn't register.

I have Let it Bleed on my list, but I'm not on the list. Probably the best opening track of all time.

I don't mind OK Computer, I don't think it's the be-all and end-all but I appreciate why people like it a lot. Same with Abbey Road, I like a good bunch of it, but songs like 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer' fuck it up early for me. I really hate that song. Actually the same goes for Pet Sounds. I get why folks like it, but I think it might just be a tad too fawned over.

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is great. The reissue is definitely getting some play today.

for a beatles album I think abbey road is the most mature. the least cute. or something.

I thought i had Let It Bleed on my list but went back and checked and sure enough I left it off. It should have made my list. My only defense I guess was that I included 3 other stones albums and must have just gotten stones fatigue. It belongs on there though.

Crooked rain is a travesty and a surprise this high.

I wouldn't put Abbey Road that high in the beatles catalog.

at least ok computer and pet sounds dropped. not a big fan of either.

crooked rain crooked rain - have only heard this a couple of times but I can't believe any Pavement should be on this list at all

pet sounds - overrated album but it has some good songs on it. not a huge fan.

abbey road - don't own this one

ok computer - radiohead's 2nd best album. again, pretty good album but shouldn't be anywhere close to this high

let it bleed - awesome

It's my favorite Pavement album, but that's like being my favorite Auburn player - no matter how great you are, you still play for fucking Auburn. Blech.

Pet Sounds was left off my list. I used to like it better, but having enrolled in Uncle Rads' Rape Rock and Jail Monger Finishing School, I just don't really care for it all that much. And of course, Sloop John B is my favorite son on there, so I probably never "got it" anyway.

I fucking LOVE Abbey Road - but if the Beatles are weed, The Stones are a fucking gagger/heart stopper of pure uncut peruvian flake. Let it Bleed the song is a true monster, and I always liked this better than Beggar's, and possibly would rate it even with Sticky Fingers given the right inducements.

I like OK Computer just fine, but it reeks of pre-millenial tension. (Hasn't aged well, imo)

cute (kyoot)
1. Delightfully pretty or dainty.
2. Obviously contrived to charm; precious.
3. Shrewd; clever.

it's just a brilliant piece of art with über-great songwriting, nothing more, nothing less. and it would be also my favorite beatles record if it were either only side one or only side two.

I'd argue that they're not mutually exclusive, and the combination argues for a kind of brilliance. But saying the Fab Four (50% now dead) were brilliant is tautological...

had a I made a list, Abby Road would probably have been number one, and CR,CR would have been in the top ten.

I'm a little surprised that Let it Bleed is higher than Sticky Fingers

I'm a little shocked that Funky Kingston never made an appearance yet, but no way is it top 5. And I'll never forgive any of you for no Dolls on this list.

Blonde on Blonde maybe?

Even though I can't guarantee it was on my "list" this is the truth. I think you will agree with me that the problem with most of the shit the board JUST LURVS is that it lacks fucking BALLS.

That Dolls album is ALL BALLS.

There you go.

I realize I'm inviting ridicule here, but isn't it at least a little surprising Pearl Jam's "Ten" didn't grab a spot in the 90s or 80s?

I was thinking Darkness on the Edge of Town instead of Sgt Peppers but I wasn't paying too close attention to the lists. Definitely the other four.

Yeah.. Exile, London Calling, Highway 61 all have so much less "BALLS" than a Dolls album. I can't hear the Dolls at all now without seeing
