You guys need to teach me how to read.
you'll notice that the first sentence references "the sport", being basketball, implying that pre-gretsky hockey, while like hockey itself a pleasant memory, has zero fucking relevance to the conversation.

It's funny we mention Lambeer and Stockton, while debating media constructs. Now, why is Lambeer seen as such a thug, and Stockton, generally not? I would answer that it has something to do with the media, and the perception that they help shape.

hopefully now that hockey's gone the next gordie howe will just grow up to become a monster on the boards for 30 years. or we'll get a new wave of mulleted basketball players.

My guess is because Laimbeer's a Notre Dame alum, and everybody hates ND. Except for me, of course, which is why I make such ridiculous claims of anti-ND bias.
