Not even going to lie...this is pretty damn cool. For a Maryland kid, this is pretty badass.

Animal Collective have updated their website once again. Clicking on the title at the top of the page brings you to a second page with a new video, which reveals the tracklisting. This confirms that Merriweather Post Pavilion is indeed the title of their new album. Boy are we excited.

Merriweather Post Pavilion:

1. In the Flowers
2. My Girls
3. Also Frightened
4. Summertime Clothes
5. Daily Routine
6. Bluish
7. Guys Eyes
8. Taste
9. Lion in a Coma
10. No More Runnin
11. Brother Sport

Merriweather Post Pavilion is due out in January on Domino.

Never been to that shed, and missed AC on their last tour, so know nothing about what's going to be on this record. Really, who can complain with the frequency and quality of Animal Collective releases???

No doubt. I missed them as well on the last tour, but I think I'm looking more forward to this one than the previous 2.

I enjoyed the last tour...I think they just keep getting better and better with each album...hopefully this one continues that trend.

It was recorded at Sweet Tea in Oxford, MS and mixed at Chase Park Transduction in Athens, GA with Athens, GA native and member of Trancesarc/The Constellations, Ben Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Cee-Lo, All the Saints, Athlete, Gym Glass Heroes, Gringo Star, P-Diddy). I hear it's going to be a mix of North Mississippi blues and jangly college rock.

Here's a LINK to an article about the recorded/mixing process. Sounds like I'm gonna need to borrow some Kicker 16"s and get my rattle on.

Am horribly excited about this. Glad to see a couple of these tracks make it to record. Thought this last tour was absolutely amazing (to be honest, best show I've seen), and hope the way some older songs were translated, and how some of these new ones cam across live is an indication of what this record will be. I stand by my thinking that the current run AC is on (Here Comes the Indian, Sung Tongs, Feels, Strawberry Jam) is the most impressive output of any band this decade (and that's not counting the Panda Bear solo albums, the Terrestrial Tones project, or any EPs).

I wonder if that "walk around with you" song will be on there...they played it a lot on the last tour.

It's moving!!

This can't be coming at a better time, because I've had to talk a long break from all other AC records. Where's the leak!?

If it really sounds like the description above the naysayers will be all over it secretly.

much like tv on the radio, i'll continue to give this band another chance, but so far i've yet to be convinced to jump on the bandwagon.

it was a joke that i thought i would continue on this board. it did not work out because that file was d/l everywhere on the internet last night and sendspace pulled the file.

i was so pissed but my thread on my other board has over 200 post and roxyumuzak had over 100 d/l within one hour. so it was fun...
