I forgot how fucking slow everything moves when it's not election time.

Life feels like its in slow motion. I need some barbiturates to slow me down or something.

What happened to the cute indie rock girls?
I've been married and out of the loop too long to notice their disappearance. Have they really gone away?

LOL. I remember the day he cut it. I walked into a bar, and he got up to say hi, and I had NO CLUE who he was.

I checked them out over the wife's shoulder. Still don't have an account.

And once again, Busty's ability to make That Face in every picture of the era is kinda impressive.

So I imported a 2-disc John Hiatt anthology from a co worker out of curiosity last week, and am finally getting around to hearing it. This first disc is absolutely terrible. He bounces from one bad impression to another - Randy Newman, Elvis Costello, all with terrible electric drums and shit.

I hope the second one is where he started sounding like himself. And even then, I'm more curious than hopeful.

I agree the early stuff is hit-or-miss, mostly miss- he didn't hit his stride until '87's Bring The Family- that and the 3 albums following it are enough to earn him a pretty high spot for me.

From the bottom of an article about Major League Baseball and Human Growth Hormone:

Quote:
HGH was first used in 1959 to treat children of short stature. Studies have shown that long-term use, at great expense, does make children a little taller.
