is anyone else as obsessed with this shit as i am? i thought it sounded disgusting (i hadn't ever tried it) until a few days ago. my friend brought some home from thanksgiving.
it blew my mind. it is so fucking good.

here's a grammys corn puddin' recipe:

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 5 eggs
* 1/3 cup butter, melted
* 1/4 cup white sugar
* 1/2 cup milk
* 4 tablespoons cornstarch
* 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn
* 2 (14.75 ounce) cans cream-style corn

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 400 Degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 2 quart casserole dish.
2. In a large bowl, lightly beat eggs. Add melted butter, sugar, and milk. Whisk in cornstarch. Stir in corn and creamed corn. Blend well. Pour mixture into prepared casserole dish.
3. Bake for 1 hour.

You are the second person I've encountered since Thanksgiving that's never had corn pudding. I don't think either of you are American.

black sheep is great. they apparently took my favorite salad off of the menu though.

bummer.. i even tried to make it myself and it wasn't anywhere near as great as theirs was.. and it's just a salad.

their food comes in giant portions and it's really affordable. i like that place.

It's more just like really moist, spoonable cornbred.

FUH!

All you need is a hard tack biscuit and some whiskey in an old beat up canteen.

This must be a Southern thing. I wasn't aware that there was anybody who hadn't heard of it because I've had it at every big family gathering (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.) since I was a kid.

I've never heard of corn pudding. It sounds just like extra thick creamed corn...yuck!

Could be. I'm from Minnesota and am in the 'never heard of it or had it' camp. I like cornbread a lot though so I wouldn't be surprised if I liked it.

Never had it, though the way Loog described it, sounds like the corn scoop they gave you as a side back in the day at Chi-Chis

It's delicious and reason #1023 why the South is a great place. Voodoo BBQ here has some crazy good corn pudding. I usually skip the barbeque and just get two orders of corn pudding.

It tastes like Gar described it but better.
