It's the creamed corn that make this seem extraordinarily unappetizing. Maybe once everything is mixed, it changes the taste but "soft, moist, buttery, semi-sweet, bready pudding, with corn in it" but it still sounds ghastly.

This is one southern dish I won't be trying.

It's more just like really moist, spoonable cornbred.

FUH!

or Cornbread dense with kernels and soaked in sweetened buttermilk.

Yeah now this sounds good. When I was little my dad would make cornbread from scratch, and then we'd chop up a slice of it into a big glass of buttermilk and eat it with a spoon out of the glass.

It's pretty freaking amazing.
We have it every Thanksgiving and I really should make it at other times throughout the year; or at least throughout the autumn/winter.

I know the horrors of creamed corn. But DJ you should trust me on this because it's nothing like creamed corn. You'd love this.

This isn't a great pic of it but here's what it looks like.

I heard an audio tape of me as a 2 yr old a year ago at my mom's, and holy fuck was I country. I guess it was the move in 5th grade to PTC that derailed the redneck express.

Also I miss goat's milk. Sour-licious.

Tanner's right Dump - this is right up your alley (and can be served ala Chest)
