I like The Sheila Divine. I own two of their albums and they both bring me to my knees, they're that good.

You mean Kim Jong-il? Yeah, he's some crazy dictator.

Heard both. Only scattered songs from Sheila Divine, but all good stuff. Saw Dear Leader back at their TT's residence in January and I wasn't very impressed.

i can't remember if i ever saw the sheila divine live.

a couple of my buddies said that the DL album seemed to be the same as TSD's albums in that there were a few great songs and the rest was rather mediocre.

The best TSD stuff was New Parade era stuff - I think Aaron damaged his vocal cords before recording Countrymen and thus everything after that kind of lacked the raw edge that New Parade had for me.....having said that I really liked all of their stuff....I haven't been able to get into DL unfortunately...but am still trying. Aaron is a great guy.

Hilarious moment - we drove from Seattle to PDX just to see them play at NXNW - they were playing at an old strip club, where they still had girls basically go-go dancing in pasties....weird stuff....At any rate, TSD did this fun cover of "The Thong Song" - Never has it been more appropriate :)

BTW, I concur with OPA.....when TSD was on their music would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up......in a good way :)

Kev this is random, but I saw you guys featured on the largeheartedboy site a few weeks ago and I can't help but wonder if he found that on his own or at your suggestion... either way that's awesome since I always check that site and find great songs waiting for me...

Cotton - ha, that is random! I wonder how we ended up in his queue...my friends the Information are also on there. Crazy!

That's a great story about TSD! Jim Gilbert, the bass player, is our de facto manager right now, so I always love hearing these kinds of things...

My friend in Boston LOVES Dear Leader. He played a bit for me when I was out there, and they seemed decent enough.

I saw The Sheila Divine when they opened for the Manics here at the Troubadour. Weird bill. Great band.
