You can choose anyone... be they dead or alive.
I'm listening to Harry Nilsson this morning and thinking about how much I would have loved to have played with him got me thinking about this. (Especially getting him to sing on a new song of mine that I cannot sing!!!)

So, who for you, and in what capacity?

My list:
Harry Nilsson (vocalist/musician)
Brian Eno (producer/musician)
Roy Wood (producer/musician)
Nick Lowe (musician/producer)
James Burton (musician)
Steve Cropper (musician/producer)

I think Madlib would be wonderful to work with.

I think I'd like to collaborate with Explosions in the Sky, just because I think it would be extremely fun. I want to be the guy that slams a tambourine on the stage floor during that one song...

Actually Chet Atkins would be way up there for me.

The quintessential sideman, for me. Tons of ability matched only by his superior restraint.

If I could make a rule about No Jebus Talk, I'd kick back with Vince Gill any damn time too. Fucker is GOOD with a guitar, and seems like a helluva nice guy as well.

I do, but probably not better than you. Imagine how much of a prick he must have been back then... I think he calmed a bit down now...

Andy Partridge from XTC would be kinda fun to fart around with.

And I wouldn't mind playing drums along w/ Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy).

I'd like a couple months in the studio with Jon Brion producing my stuff. I'd also like to write with him.

I'd like to play bass for Prince, but i'd also like to play bass and sing those super high Howie Epstein BGVs for Tom Petty. I'd like Brian Ray's job in Paul McCartney's band, because i love all of those songs, and Abe Laboriel Jr. is my favorite drummer to watch.

I'd like to write and record with Matthew Sweet, as long as Ric Menck is drumming.

I want to watch Bjork write songs and record, and help if she'd let me.

Precisely who I'd want as well, if I was in the fortunate position of being able to make that choice.
