maybe not the right thread, but the guy who played stringer bell is going to be on "the office" for a few weeks later this season. i've never seen him in anything other than "the wire" so i can imagine some difficulty seeing him in a comedic role.

i hope he doesn't because (YES I KNOW HE IS BRITISH) he sounds like a retard. he was somehow the worst part of a terrible movie called Rocknrolla.

What's with Wire dudes in movies with the name Rock in the title. When i saw Rock Star (before I had even heard of the Wire) i thought McNutly had the worst fake british accent I'd ever heard.

For a week after Xmas Best Buy had all HBO DVD seasons and box sets 50% off. We had already saved money for The Wire and the wife had some Xmas money.

YEAU!

Oh come on, Puffy's a way better choice than Nas. Especially the contrast vs. Jay-Z.

Here's "The Wire" as a football team.

I would have The Game as Offense, The Po-Lice as Defense, Randoms like Bubs as Special Teams, and the Politicians and The Greeks as Ownership/Management.

The Media is well, The Media, and kids are the fans.

Yeah, Bubs would have been perfect as a crazy-ass special teams player. The Greek probably would be best as owner, and I'd actually like to see Valchek as GM and Sobotka as Head Coach just for the front office chaos.

I like your offense/defense setup, <>D. Stringer Bell is definitely the QB, with Avon as HB and Wee-Bey as FB. Bodie is the loud-mouthed WR who think he knows more than everyone else (see: T.O.).

Herc and Carver would have to be the CBs who always need support from their Safetys, McNulty and Kima. I assume they'd be running a 3-4, which would put Bunk at NT. Freamon would have to be one of the DEs.

Another special teams thought: how about Ziggy as the kicker and his cousin as the punter?

I've been re-watching a few episodes recently, and had to comment on the opening scene of S3 Ep 11. The Omar and Brother Mouzone showdown...so awesome.
