they expecting 10,000 people in davis square tonight. u2 is playing a no-so-secret show at the somerville theater (capacity: 900)

they were in chicago last night. it was just a "dj gig" where they picked radio-friendly songs and did an interview. i wouldn't be surprised if it's the same thing all over the country.

ok, the u2 thing was incredibly overhyped and i fell for it. i was on a rooftop with a burrito, beer, and a couple friends and there were maybe 400 people in davis sq. apparently they played 5 songs off the new album, did some q&a and took off.

disappointing.

people on the red line on the way home were chattering about it. I think the hype scared some people off?

might've been different if it was in boston. . . maybe that's why they decided to do it up in s'ville.
