Chuck Berry: Johnny B. Goode: His Complete 50s Chess Recordings

Well, I'm a giant Chuck Berry fan, so it's no surprise that 4 discs of everything he recorded for Chess in the 50s is right up my alley. What is a surprise is the great breadth of styles the music takes on these four discs. Sure, you get his big rocking hits, short bursts of pure energy that practically created what we know as rock 'n' roll, but you also get tracks like a 10 minute slow jam that highlights Johnnie Johnston's amazing piano work with Willie Dixon on bass, Blues for a Hawaiian with it's island slide guitar thrown into the mix and a host of other treats along the way. If you're a Chuck Berry fan, you want to hear this.

ahh, very good e-stone. What's it like? I'm really quite curious about the Albini production on the new one.
