two guns,
when you have a "flight of tequila" does that mean 3 different brands?

We had a flight in Austin that was three types of the same brand - silver, reposado, and anejo.

So tonight my buddy bought smaller bottles of each in Patron and thats what we had.

Well, I have never been a big fan but if you get decent stuff it goes down smooth - like the Patron we had tonight or the Tezon we had in Austin.

No drinking for me tonight - I'm still recuperating from the weekend.

My favorites: Blantons, Pappy Van Winkle, Bookers, Bakers---these are all top shelf bourbons, but well worth the extra $, at least occasionally.

I honestly like Wild Turkey - Rare Breed better than the ones mentioned. But be warned - it's 108 proof, but you wouldn't know it because it's not harsh at all.

Pappy Van Winkle is not worth the money.

In fact, I don't won't you to drink alone Shiv. I'm fixing a glass of Rare Breed.

EDIT: In further tribute to all things Shiv, I put on Ida Maria.

I like Woodfords but I find it a little harsher than others. For the money I think Elijah Craig tastes similar and is much cheaper.

Jefferson's reserve is better (and much more expensive) than Woodford.

I actually really like Rye these days, in as much as I can even handle whiskey. It leads to Epic Life Fail Hangover.

I had two sapphire martinis straight up at dinner, and came up with a name for the boy: DuQuan Jernavis LooGAR.

Which Rye? I haven't ventured into Rye category yet, but Don Draper has been calling.

Michter's

Old Overholt is OK.

The last time I drank Jack = TEH DEATH

The last time I drank Maker's = TEH DEATH

The last time I drank scotch = Death Bed Mongerdom

Awaiting my next foray into The Rye.

Gin, on the other hand, I can drink 4 martinis and be up and walking the next morning by 6am.

I can tell you without hyperbole that the rye hangover will be a million times worse than all of those put together.

Woodford Reserve tastes buttery to me. Blanton's is great, but very expensive.

Dave, is that Michter's the US1? Very good stuff. I like rye for old fashioneds lately. I find Bulleit leans toward rye, so it's the best case scenario.
