I'm all for it, but I doubt it would make a difference--I suspect most of them don't see much reason to live.

No, that thought actually never crossed my mind. But from what I've seen and read, Somalia's a pretty depressing, dangerous, place. Even if they thought they'd be attacked during a hijacking, I doubt it would make a difference when the life expectancy is about 50 anyways.
