I saw them once, in 2002 after YHF released. Really great show, even thuogh I had to bounce early because I was with a girl. Yeaaaah.

I'd love to see them again but I'm just far enough from anywhere big that I probably won't get a chance to see them for a while. Sad.

Theeeere he is. I've been worried, Bob. Lotta slow ones right down the middle have been hitting the catcher's glove lately.

Here is my twitter updates. Needless to say, they rocked my face. Music fans on a whole are total dorks.

Standing at the bar at Fish Market in Birmingham with Will. This jonks is good, but the bartender moves like he's Paul Cicero

First song Misunderstood

The last song - I am tryoing to break your heart was sone eno-noise airplane trip. Kamera is rock and or roll.

TKORG!

I swear this band is just a little too precious for me these days.

And they bust out a 12 minute noise jam. Also Stiratt may be the most underrated monster og this decade - check the unsolved murder file around wilco tour dates

Hotel Arizona. Man if they stuck to the first 2 albums they could be as fail as Cracker. All they need is a damn ol Dead Flowers cover

Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm? Holy shit this album was the anthem to summer 99

10 years ago, and at least 2 MAIN ERAS

What you once were isn't what yoyu wanna be - ANYMORE. I bet if you repeat that like they do in this song you start to believe it.

Jebus eckcergag. Tall buildinfs shake and shit

Ohg. Germany. Iks impoosibgle

Kinda like Barry split the difference b/n JFK and Ron Raygun, Wilco is sort of equal parts VU and the Band.

Tweedy knows nothing @ Bama. To great effect.

They playin TIGHT tho. Damn. Full Stops like JB

Our birg - ik humming

The boy Tweedy just went from making fun of Twitter into I Can't Stand It. No Love's as Random as God's Love.

I remember seeing them on Letterman playing this. Really - a main era.

Handshake Drugs is apparently the song that broke them wide

Heavgy Mekal Drummer - oh yeah, they say "stoned" - instant classic

Dem Spigers

Cops posted up outside the bathroom. Mnay dissapointed noses.

There's an open d n d crew behind me. I hate the hipster wassle more than the noodle dance

Candyfloss! I am 22

I remember thinking that they would encore or end with Candyfloss the last time I saw them in 2001. That just made my night.

They played Candyfloss!

Tweedy is aping Westerberg on stage. I bought Tim after Being There

The second guitarist adds a lot. Looks like a Followill.

I'm the man who love you!

I'm Red Eyed and Blue

You are all I'll ever need. 2nd encore. Wow!

This is it methinks.

Hoodoo Voodoo. Not as good as Walt Whitman's Niece but damn! I ddnt think this band could blow me away again.

Jesus - they couldn't have done better playing Casino Queen or Californioa Stars. I'm officially a fan again.

Oh, and walking out of the venue I saw a dude y'all might know, and got his picture for Crack's Mom's Birthday:

Image

Convo was like this:

JASON?! What's up man?

Huge Trucker's fan. I'm FROM Athens! I don't wanna be that guy, but can we get a pic?

Sure

Truckers fans miss you man. You added something to that band. I was a fan before you were there, and I'm a fan now, they need that damn ringing guitar from Day John Henry Died.

Thanks, man. I miss those guys.

Dude, you know my buddy Chitwood?

I KNOW RICK!

All right, bro. Thanks for the pic. I'm gonna go spit on his grave.

'Night man!

This just shot past Derris' "Your almost there man...the Ritz Carlton" to Serge from Marah as the most randomly hilarious thing said to a dude in a band. LOLZ

Hell yeah Dave. I knew you'd be into it. Glad you had a good time.

What's the venue like? I'm there on Sat. for Avett Bros.

they found something in "Hoodoo Voodoo" that is exciting them, and have turned it into an awesome live standard.

It's a fun song to play and fits well into a setlist as a upbeat tune? I dug it when I heard it on Sat., as did femdisco (who tends to like sunny, major key songs).

I need to know beer intake levels.

Because if it was steady I could draw a conclusion that it was the beer talking. You clearly weren't as impressed early in the show.

I interpreted drunk-gar-twitter speak to say, "I was skeptical at first but through the course of seeing them live I realized how great the songs really are." But could be wrong.

God, who knows these days. It might just be Jack Daniels and five years touring with Hood/Cooley.

That could age you something fierce.

Definitely, steady, but I think that they also got better/more into it as the show went on.

The newer material just isn't as good as anything Summerteeth and before, and the crowd (like all crowds) was annoying and cliche ridden. Once I had enough booze to get over that and get into the music it was a really damn good time.

Also: ISBELL!
