Heard em on some XM/Sirius Channel on the way home tonight.

Song sounded like a punched up Stones job.

Missed them during SXSW but plan to catch them @ Emo's next week. Heard their live show is pretty outstanding.

I saw them live when they opened for Gomez a month or so ago. Blew me away. Great show. I thought the full length would disappoint... but bought it anyway cuz i like to support great shows like that. Really glad I did. Great album.

Not really. One good song that I would have heard about here eventually.

Yeah, they're pretty great and have justifiably been getting some national run of late. Live show's awesome. Great guys, too. Apparently they're a bunch of Trekkies and wear old-school Trek outfits onstage from time to time - so guess who we photographed for a story about Trek fan madness for our story this week about the new movie?

Anyway, thanks for the recommends Loog. 30 solid, totally enjoyable minutes of rock and roll, nearly as good as Midnight Flyer actually.

This is not what I would consider a ringing endorsement.

I went to see Lucero last night (at the Biltmore Hotel, fergawdsake) and Black Joe Lewis & dem Honeybears opened. Nice surprise. I didn't care too much for the studio album, but live they bring it pretty good.

And Lucero? Seemed sober and almost professional. And the crowd blew me away by singing along to almost every song (I think the band was a little surprised by that too). Plus they did "Tears Don't Matter Much", which totally made all the amateur vocalists go apeshit.

I think that's pretty great.

The whole singing along to every song thing can get tedious but with the right tune, its pretty cool.
