two of the best albums ever released with Disintegration and Rubber Soul than throw in The Slider, not a poor grouping at all. first choice.

Voted The Cure.

Rubber Soul has always been my least favorite Beatles record for some reason.

I think just because it's so ubiquitous. I don't begrudge anyone voting for it, nor do I want to understate it's impact on rock music but I rarely have any need to hear them do "Drive My Car" or "In My Life". Although i do like "You Won't See Me" and "I've Just Seen A Face".

But yeah, there are 3 or 4 other Beatles records I'll pull out before this.

I went with T.Rex.

It's one of my least favorite Beatles, too, or at least it used to be. Regardless of how important or what a big "leap forward" it was, I feel like everything they did afterward, except maybe Let It Be, is better. And honestly I think I like Beatles for Sale better, too. Maybe even Help! and A Hard Day's Night.

Help! is miles better (and a much larger "step forward" IMHO).

It is to the beatles' collective credit that so many of their records could arguably be "the best." Not many bands I can think of have that kind of spread. With the Stones it's Exile, for example.

WRONG.

Exile gets most of the mentions, but an argument can be made for:

Aftermath
Let it Bleed
Beggar's Banquet
Sticky Fingers

I think all of them are close to, and many days surpass Exile, which is usually cited because it is a sprawling mess of a record, with many styles and eras covered. It gets name checked, but many casual Stones fans have never even heard it, or couldn't tell you any songs from it save Tumblin Dice or All Down the Line.

"i've just Seen A Face" is on Help! which I agree is a bigger "leap forward"

I'll never tire of "in my life"

It was on the US version of "Rubber Soul". It first showed up on the UK version of "Help". I must have the US version of "Rubber Soul" then.

"In My Life" was my high school senior song so it will always kind of have a lame connotation for me.
