It'll soon be time to upgrade my phone and am researching my possibilities. Before you rant on how much I should get an iPhone, don't bother...I'm not interested. I rather like my Verizon connection and prefer to stay with them. My options then? The new Palm Pre or the Blackberry Storm. Do you or a friend currently own one?

I've gotta admit, I'm waivering towards the Palm Pre...but, I'm not yet married to the idea. Perhaps, you tech heads would like to opine on the merits of current mobile phone technology.

my only beef with the pre is the dinky ass keyboard.......

the storm has more screen area, and from what i have seen i would go with that. my beef with the storm is that its big (same with the iphone)

I too have the I am not leaving verizon conundrum.
If the storm is the one with the touch screen, I have had 2 friends return them based on suckiness.

You'll have to wait another 5+ months till you can get the Pre on Verizon, so that should make your choice pretty easy.

I'm of Chase's mindset -- having a keyboard is rather nice vs touching the screen to text / email.

What is the latest on iPhone coming to Verizon in January? Or is that just a leverage play by Apple against ATT?

I'm loving the G1 and T-Mobile. I hated verizon when i was on it.

i kept hearing that it was a leverage play. i hope not though, even though it is only supposed to be some kind of iPhone-lite.

i have the bb curve and like it fine. 2 of my co-workers have the storm, and they love it. but we work for a company that before we merged with VZ, we were only allowed to have our companies phones and we didn't have any smartphones. i could see how someone used to a real keyboard might dislike the touchscreens.

I sent an e mail to verizon not too long ago regarding the iphone. they actually CALLED me back to say they were likely never getting it. Which was interesting. I then said I planned to switch to ATT when my contract ran out due to this and they didn't seem to care...

I could swear I read recently that ATT locked up the iphone for another 3 years....

I had the iphone and liked it fine, except for the virtual keyboard, so i went over to the blackberry bold and am happy as a clam...

the palm pre looks cool, but from what i read, it has a LOT of kinks to be worked out, and people should probably wait for version 2 or at least about a year of 'software upgrades' before they jump on it now....I hear it also shoddily made.

not the best battery life....but the touch pro is the best phone for verizon.....tp2 should be coming out soon.......you should be able to put android on it....the keyboard is FANTASTIC

thats what i use.....its GREAT......the keyboard is amazing..the size is great....you can tweak alot of stuff (alot of developers out there)

the tp2 is suppose to be thinner

For what its worth, I am extremely happy with my Pre after 2 weeks. Build quality isn't an issue and I really really like the OS.

my problem is that i will be getting a new phone soon, and i definitely want a physical keyboard, and preferably a phone on the android platform. but the majority of the phones will have the soft keyboard. and there is the tmobile g1 right now that has the physical keyboard, but the g2 is coming soon and i cant get a phone knowing there is a newer model out, although the g2 has a soft keyboard. it will bother me to the core
