i think that there's more going on with him than their record. he's had some issues with some players that Paxon may have thought were irreconcilable.

I understand that, but what's the purpose of firing a coach with 18 games left in the season?

i think that the purpose is that you're just sick of looking at him, or maybe that the new owner can't stand the guy and you want to try and hire flip saunders before anyone else does.
