Is this the Liars album everybody fawned over a couple years ago?

I can't believe this is this close, really. Not because I love or hate either. I just thought that Liars album was pretty much loathed by the non-experimental crowd.

VISUALIZE SUCCESS BUT DON'T BELIEVE YOUR EYES.

I'm kind of baffled at some of the repsonses in this thread.

I love both of these records but for obviously vastly different reasons.

I gave my vote to "Mass Romantic" because it's probably my favorite indie pop album of the decade. It's just full to the gills with hooks, soaring harmonies, and melodies for days. There isn't a spare inch for anything else on each track. FWIW, "Letter To An Occupant" is probably one of the weaker tracks IMO. I only say that because I know lots of people think that's their best song.

It was close though. "Drum's Not Dead" is a work of sonic art IMO and the closing track is one of the best closers of the 00's. I don't pull it out very often but that's what makes me like it more. I forget how good it is.

Just two different beasts.

I'm kind of baffled that you're baffled. Consider the responders.
