Yeah, same here, but I think much of that had to do with the hype.
I gave a listen to them after hearing the hype and I just didn't get it.

As for KoL. This album and the single were starting to get on my nerves after routinely hearing them at one of the local bars, but now they seem to be on a rotating Wilco album kick.

Seeing them live at SXSW really locked it in for me.

Don't forget Dalen. And I guess I'm part of the flock... your Highness.

Rads ranked it pretty high too, if I recall. Top 5.

I haven't given Glasvegas a fair shake yet. I picked it up used not too long ago, but have barely done more than upload it into my iTunes library. I mostly tend to have my 2009 releases on shuffle.

My Kings of Leon are officially huge moment:

Co-worker who pretty much only listens to hip hop or hardcore rap just came up to me and asked if I'd ever heard of a band called Kings of Leon. "They've got some song called Somebody or something".

I think she bought a Daughtry album last year as well.

The writing is on the wall.

Damn, that really is surprising. Were they featured in some movie or television show recently? How is it that they're getting out there?

Also, jokes about Daughtry and Nickelback aside, I do find it somewhat surprising that the general populace is starting to discover them because the last couple of albums are not exactly frontloaded with big, huge choruses you can sing along to. I would have figured 'The Bucket' would have been the big Buzz Band song for them.

They must officially suck now, as they are performing Live at 30 Rock on The Today Show...and haircuts..

I honestly don't hear much difference between the new one and "Because of the Times".

I think that it's really same-y. Like, it sort of drones on in the middle and the end with songs that are not distinctive.

Though I have not spent much time with it.

I think the songs are a little stronger on the previous one. But overall, I'm still surprised that 'Sex on Fire' and 'Use Somebody' are their big breakout hits. Just watching them play those songs on Today, they're not exactly 'get up and move your feet' type tunes.

They are playing in Council Bluffs in about two months, the show was just recently announced. I just read in the local paper that tickets cost $46 plus ticketmaster fees. That's pretty ridiculous.

[quote]Kings of Leon Plotting Remix Album

Kings of Leon have recruited Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams and Mark Ronson to give their Only By the Night the dance floor treatment with an upcoming remix LP, Billboard reports. No album name or release date has been announced, but the brothers Followill have also secured remixes from Kenna, Lykke Li and Linkin Park so far. Additionally, the former Rolling Stone cover stars are planning a live DVD from their July performance at London’s O2 Arena.

As Rock Daily previously reported, Timberlake said earlier in the year that the Kings of Leon’s Only By the Night was a constant on his iPod, so it’ll be interesting to hear JT’s FutureSex spin on one of the tracks. The Kings of Leon also tells Billboard that they’ve been working on new songs during their sound checks, with the eight to 10 tracks they’ve developed thus far comparable to bands like Radiohead, Thin Lizzy and the Band. Caleb Followill will also appear as a guest judge on an episode of Iron Chef this autumn (see photo, below).

Almost a year after its release, Only By the Night continues to be a force, climbing back up to the Number Five position on the Top 200 this week and grabbing platinum status. Back in September 2008, the album debuted at Number Four, so that’s a testament of the lasting appeal of hits like “Sex on Fire,â€

I almost bought the latest because it is on sale at best buy, but that ballad song they got on every station is annoying.

I couldn't agree more with this statement but I have to say when I first saw them at Austin City Limits in 2003, they were god damn exciting.

I agree with Rolled's agreement and gloss on Dalen's comment.
