Merry-Go-Round - Listen Listen: The Definitive Collection
Emitt Rhodes - The American Dream
Emitt Rhodes - Daisy-Fresh From Hawthorne, CA
Bonnie Prince Billy - Beware
Butterflies - Butterflies

(After hearing about the upcoming Emitt doc, I guess I went a little Emitt crazy for the day.)

Something Else: The Fine Lookin' Hits of Eddie Cochran

Great collection from this early rockabilly kingpin. His career was brief, but you can't ignore anyone with songs like Summertime Blues, C'mon Everybody, 20 Flight Rock, Nervous Breakdown and more. Some say the 50s died when he crashed his car in 1960. This collection gathers all the big hits and plenty more. One to play over and over throughout the years.

I actually sold this back. Nothing ever grabbed me. I even saw the songs live, which typically lets me hear the songs from a different perspective, but even then... Lie Down in the Light is a superior album.

It is... but neither is particularly memorable or necessary. Both are inferior to The Letting Go, which itself doesn't reach the highs of I See a Darkness or the best Palace Music stuff.

For me today:

Mika Miko - We Be Xuxa
HEALTH - Get Color
Charles Mingus - Presents Charles Mingus
Rahsaan Roland Kirk - Return of the 5000 lb Man
Califone - All My Friends Are Funeral Singers
Circulatory System - Signal Morning
Melvins - Chicken Switch
Polvo - In Prism
NoMeansNo - Wrong
The Jesus Lizard - Liar

Frank Black - Bluefinger
Frankie Miller - Once In a Blue Moon

possible inclusion for the "worst cover art" thread? but, at least so far, the music is good.
