I know we have a couple of Android threads, but I wanted to make 1 which easily lists cool apps. Which ones do you guys use?

I have tried and enjoy:
*Designates a must have for me.

Utilities:
**WidgetLocker - Customize your lock screen with shortcut sliders, widgets, and apps. Total time saver.
*Call Confirm - Gives you a popup to confirm you wanted to call someone so you don't have any accidental dials and frantic "end call" tapping episodes.
*Battery Circle - Shows your exact battery percentage remaining in the status bar.
*Easy Reminder - Gives you a polite vibrate or beep if you have an unnoticed notification.
**Awesome Drop - Drag files from your computer into browser to get it on your android device without a cable. (works with dragging files to a friends device too with coordination.)
Barcode Scanner - Scan bar codes with the camera when you are out shopping to get reviews and compare prices.
*Dropbox - update and transfer files automatically between phone and computers.
**Audio Manager Pro - Keeps various volume profile settings that you can toggle through with a great widget for shortcuts.
GTasks - Task list that you can check off as you go. Syncs with your gmail account. Great for keeping CD want lists, grocery lists, to do lists, etc.
*Search Light - Great flashlight if your phone camera has a flash. (If not, I prefer using Flashlight to turn screen white and 100% bright)
*TweetDeck - Awesome twitter / facebook client that lets you post updates to multiple accounts at once and retweet from one account to another.
Swype Keyboard - Great keyboard to drag your finger around and it knows the words. Won't work if your phone shipped with an earlier version of Swype. The only way to get it is to sign up for the beta and get a download link emailed to you. (AKA, not available in the Google Play Store.)
TouchPal Keyboard - Alternative on screen keyboard, like Swype, with better predictive texting. This is buggy when trying to use this with my slide out keyboard, but is better than the normal on screen. I prefer my physical keyboard, but if my next phone doesn't have one, this will be my Huckleberry.
Read It Later - If you install this on your phone, and a browser extension in Firefox or Chrome, you just click their shortcut button in the browser and the web page you were reading can be synced to your phone for easy reading later when I am on the go. I have my phone app to sync text only so I don't have to download pictures or ads so it is super fast.

Apps:
*Team Coco - Conan O'Brien app that lets you watch video clips from the show such as musical performances, monologues, etc. Great since I don't have cable.
*Cardstar- Input your store loyalty cards so you can scan your phone instead of carrying all those cards around.
Simple Last.fm Scrobbler - Scrobbles tracks to Last.FM when I play them.
*WinAmp - mp3 player, that shows cover art, and scrobbles,
AK Notepad - Nice notepad that syncs up with catch.com so you don't lose data and so you can edit from a pc.
Netflix - If you have a streaming account you can log in and watch from anywhere. (Beware of data usage limits, wifi is recommended.)
App Dragon - Allows you to email a list of your installed apps to yourself in case you need to do a factory reset or want to back it up before an upgrade.

Games:
Plants vs. Zoombies - I love this simple game of growing plants that shoot at the zombies that like to eat plants.
Jewels - Bejeweled clone
NESoid - NES emulator (Find your own game roms on the internet...)
Chess for Android - tiny board, but it works fine
Solitaire- the classic
Live Hold'em - Great online poker game
*Puzzle Blox Arcade! - sort of like bejewelled / tetris
Angry Birds - catapult birds at the pigs' towers to kill the pigs
Alchemy - you start out with 4 basic elements and combine them to make more stuff.
Mole! Mole! Mole! - Simple enough. The kids love this one.
Words with Friends - Scrabble. You can play against friends or strangers.
Traffic Jam - Slide cars and trucks around to get your car out the door
Ant Smasher - Smash ants and flys but not the bees. The kids are insane over this and it's simplicity.

Apps that are cool, but I stopped using:
*TaskControl - Simple task killer. (Android really handles the apps pretty well, so it shuts down apps that aren't being used automatically making this not as useful.)
**Quick Profiles - Lets you customize various volume levels and ringtones with presets. (Like the blackberry's profiles) ((Had some problems with it forgetting my ringtones and it would default to some LOUD, awful, Indian music.)
Androidify - Official google app for making custom Andy the Android figures to look like you. (Sort of like Southpark website where you could make your own character.)
*MortPlayer - Folder based mp3 player
Google Goggles - Great app for photo recognition. I've been playing with using this to scan business cards to add contacts.
Announcify - Reads the name for Caller ID out loud so you don't have to move to see who is calling.
mp3tagger - mp3 tag editor...for when you need to fix one on the go. (Don't have a lot of need for this, but it works in a pinch.)
Paint Joy - paint program that can make little videos to replay the drawing. (I use this more on my nook so I took it off the phone.)
OI Shopping List - Grocery list where you can input the cost for each item at different stores to compare. (I started using Gtasks because it syncs with google.)
SportsTap- Get score updates for almost any sport anywhere. (ESPN ScoreCenter is a similar app that seems to work better.)

ive downloaded layar but have never really used it.

also, do you guys use this as a primary audio player? i assume thats why you are using last.fm and pandora, dalen?

i just have the free version of taskiller. is there a big difference between that and the pay one?

also, have you guys deleted the apps that came with the phone that you never use? like, i dont know if i'll ever use the 'email' app, because i use gmail and 'work email'.

i need more apps so this will be a good thread to reference

other stuff i have:

apps
barcode scanner
backgrounds
cab4me
chompSMS
facebook
foursquare
google sky map (another 'cool, but i'll never use' app)
layar (see above)
quickpedia
phonebook

games
gensoid (genesis emulator)
nesoid (nes emulator)
robodefense
abduction

i use my device for pandora and last, but not for mp3's very much.

i use the free taskiller as well. i have only purchased 1 app, and that's Better Keyboard, which RULES.

i test out apps a few times a week. if i don't use it, it gets deleted.

how is the Nesoid app?

i haventused the nesoid app yet, but i assume its just like the one i had on my old phone. the genesis app is cool, but it seems to lag a bit more than i'd like. hopefully the nes one is better. there is a snes one too

I am not into twitter so I haven't been using those apps.
I like the included function with the calendar that links to your gcal. I know it's basic but it's so helpful.

Layar is fascinating. I am writing about the Situationist International movement right now (France, late 50s - 60s) and someone more tech savvy could write an awesome paper on how this movement related to technological innovations such as these, where we seek an alternate means of interacting with the physical environment.

The Google Calendar Sync was a must install program on my desktop. Works awesome.

I also exported my Outlook contacts to a csv file and imported it to my gmail account to get them to my phone.

anyone with the Eris having an issue where it says that there are too many gmail contacts to be deleted or some nonsense like that? I read it's a common bug but fixing it seems incredibly difficult!

I paid for Documents to Go, and I really dig it. Basically Microsoft Office for your phone.

its bad, dude. you and your target have to be completely still, and you have to press the shutter button like 3 seconds ahead of time and hope for the best
