So Galifianakis hosting SNL was pretty awful. No more awful than SNL usually is, but he certainly didn't add anything. Disappointing.

For the last 8 days I've been battling some mystery illness that may or may not be the flu or mono. I'm pretty tired of being sick. I was out of work every day last week. Bored, but sick as shit with at some points a 102.5 degree fever. Don't remember anything I watched on TV. Have a Dr appt today for a 2nd opinion. My typical Dr said after seeing the results from the flu swabs (which aren't always accurate), blood/T-cell count and urinalysis, "oh it must be a virus, hope you feel better."

Were you expecting Village Green II or did you know what you were getting and still think it sucks? This was during their return to rock phase (along with Low Budget, and the live One For the Road). It certainly was not the brightest part of their career, but I enjoy this record and take it for what it is. It has the truly creepy and good "Art Lover," the great "Better Things," and some decent rock songs like "Destroyer" and the title track. I know I'm in the minority about this album being a good album, but I think most find a couple of the softer tracks to be quality tunes.

If you think this is horseshit, do yourself a favor and do not listen to anything they released after that, because the albums only got more spotty.

i like this album.

Guys have you got some more jokes about Joanna Newsom and elves/D&D.

I know basically it's her voice + her ears + the way she dresses + some kind of references to fictional fantasy creatures, but I just can't seem to assemble those in any meaningful way on my own. I need somebody with some real wit and comedic talent to give me some more examples. Of course we've had several thousand of them already since 2004, but I still need to see a few more so I can figure out how this whole thing works.
