The reason Billy Packer should be fed to a pack of dogs.

"What Kentucky should do here is double up on everyone but Paul Davis, then fould him when he gets the inbound pass."

Unless Tubby somehow gets 6 defenders on the floor, I've yet to figure out how to accomplish this piece of strategy from the Wake Forest guru.

The situation: MSU ball, up 3 with 1:30 to go.

Packer: "This is a big stop for Kentucky."

Of these four, I'm officially rooting for Michigan State now. That's probably bad news for Chad, seeing as how my luck has gone in this tournament.

What's nice is... this is a REAL Final Four. No bullshit cinderella teams. Four top/upper tier basketball programs going at it in one weekend. Could be the best four teams in a FF in years.

I for the life of me can't figure out why MI State doesn't foul someone with 12 secs left in regulation and a three point lead. Forece 'em to the line to make two. Even if they intentionally miss the second shot, you're positioned low on either side of the basket, and even if they do rebound, they still need to make a bucket to tie.

Normally, I would agree with you. But the way this game and this weekend has been going... anything could happen. The look Sparks got to tie it was incredibly difficult... that shot falls off the rim 99 times out of 100. You might be looking at a 4-point play.

This has been the best tournament I can remember watching. I'm pissed and depressed that Kentucky is gone but they have nothing to be ashamed of after that game. As soon as KY failed to get a shot off in the last possession of the first OT, I knew we were screwed. The longer that game went on, the more you had to know that experience was going to win out. The good thing for us here in the Bluegrass is that we went a lot further that I ever expected with four freshmen playing a lions share of the minutes. It sucks to lose Chuck Hayes (one of my favorite college players ever) but Morris, Bradley and Crawford now have a year's worth of experience and Rondo will be FEARED next season. Unfortunately, the last possession of OT and the first possession of the 2nd OT cost us the game IMO.

That said, I hope Michigan State knocks off UNC and Illinois destroys Louisville. I'd love to see a all-Big 10 final game just to piss off the ACC honks at ESPN/CBS that think no basketball of any significance is played outside the eastern seaboard. The Big 10 has been slagged on all season, and now they have two teams in the final 4. I love it! (despite being at the expense of my beloved Cats)

BTW - I now have no voice thanks to the screaming after Sparks shot. Muhlenberg County's finest!

A Big 10 final would be awesome, but from the looks of it a Louisville win gives me the Obner March Madness pool (anybody else besides Yail and I have three of their Final Four?). In any case, Louisville and Michigan State's presence with their seedings is a nice 'fuck you' to the selection committee.
