This is a fantastic triple record set of Stevie Wonder's early years. It takes you up to Music of My Mind. To the best of my knowledge it's not available on CD, and it's fairly easy to find on LP for less than $10.

way too much to discuss in one thread...but 3 I would definitely point to:
Al Green
Syl Johnson
Solomon Burke

you're the one with the CD not me, comeonson.

Seems to have gotten decent reviews, but certainly not classic.Rhino put out a compilation thats good, and there is another 'best of' that is pretty decent...but I forget what its called.

Yeah, its ok. I have some comps of early Burke with is obviously superior. Its not bad, but not a good representation of him as an artist overall.

Don't Give Up On Me, which came out in 2002 is FUCKING PHENOMENAL. Probably better than anything he's ever done.

I'd suggest grabbing hits collections from the Delfonics, the Stylistics, The Impressions, and Little Anthony & the Imperials. And, you gotta have some Sam Cook.
