After listening to that other Ben Sollee and somebody from the 2010 thread, I saw that Amazon had this release from 2008 for $5 today, so snagged it. Nice, gentle music, and I enjoy his cello.

Yah, I've had that for a while, and unlike a lot of outtake thangs, it's pretty enjoyable. I can up it later today when I'm home if anyone wants, and if Contradiction doesn't get to it first.

i'd love to hear this tentoze....

also i agree with you on the sollee - nice find for me this year. i also checked out daniel martin moore's ("the other guy") solo effort, but it wasn't nearly as good. i still stand by my andrew bird-violin+cello assessment of sollee.

I somehow got a subscription to SPIN, and they had a "where are they now?" article. Justine Frischmann was featured. I guess she kinda had a bout with heroin, and now lives in CA as a painter. Kinda cool. Had such a crush on her back in the day.

Nice. He also plays with the Abigail Washburn & the Sparrow Quartet. Definitely worthwhile to give that a spin as well. His 2010 release is in my top 5. Its excellent.

These guys were on Letterman last night. Lead singer is freakishly tall and skinny ala Joey Ramone, and he wasn't the most energetic of lead singers. The other guys seemed to really get into it though.
