What's the last song to randomly play on your iPod or similar-type device, which you haven't heard in a long time (if at all) that caused you to think, "Hey, that's a pretty damn good song!"?

Here's the one that just finished playing on my laptop and triggered me to start this thread:

Destroyer - "Sublimation Hour"

You know, it's too bad all his albums aren't as good as Streethawk: A Seduction, because that's a damn good album which I should actually listen to more often!

I would edit Bob's post to say "it's great that all his albums are as good as Streethawk" but that would be putting words in his mouth and stuff.

"Right In Time" by Lucinda Williams came up on my random the other day and prompted me to listen to the whole album about 198 times since. I forgot how fucking awesome a piece of work that is.

Late last year - SFA "The Man Don't Give A Fuck" comes up on my Launchcast station, sending me on a full-fledged SFA binge which hasn't really abated yet.

And I'm not the binge sort, 'cept with booze.

His other albums don't suck, I just don't enjoy them as much. They're still pretty decent in their own right.

Streethawk is also my favorite Destroyer record. My favorite tune, however, is Bad Arts. I love it.

I like all of the ones I have (which, coincidentally, is probably all of them)...

My vote'll go for "Brooklyn Dodger" by Xiu Xiu off of the Fag Patrol EP...

This happens to me all of the time. The general thought that goes along with this at the time is : 'Oh! I'm so happy this song came on, too bad I have to skip half of it to see what's next.'

Just had another instance of this a couple of minutes ago...

Gram Parsons - "She"

It'll be all I can do not to play this on repeat all day.

Just happened on my Launchcast station as I was about to head out the door.

The Tea Party - "Turn The Lamp Down Low"

Haven't heard that in years.

Agreed; though my iTunes shuffle has been a HUGE fan of playing Primus this week. I don't really break out their albums much anymore, but I'm not complaining about hearing them. :rawk:

I dug out an old, old mix and heard INXS' "Don't Change" for the first time in years. Definitely qualifies.

Joanna Newsom - "Bridges and Balloons"

I was convinced that I would never get used to her squeaky voice, but this changed my mind.
