I was at my in-laws for lunch and was glad that it was time to leave just as this one was starting--their Tech fandom repulses me.

Horrible. FemDerr and I went to our neighborhood Mexi joint Friday and there were two separate groups of TEN of Tech fans there watching the Ok St/Tech game. Super loud (and drunk) and getting cocky. I can't even be cordial with their kind.

If I were Tech I'd fire Paul Hewitt no matter what the cost. They are so horribly inconsistent. They just look lost at times with everyone looking at each other waiting on someone to make it happen.

Dude can bring in the talent but his in-game coaching leaves a lot to be desired. They should not only fire him, but also Radakovich(sp?) for saddling them with Hewitt's $6 million buyout. Maybe they'll get lucky and he'll bolt for St. Johns. Also, I can't believe he's been there 10 years.

man what a tournament. msu v. maryland = incredible ending.

Auburn has a ton of money to throw around and he'd be a big name and a big splash for them. I can't blame them for targeting him.

But, I also think it's kind of bullshit for him to do it.

He could've been to UGA basketball what Dean was to UNC, or Wooden was to UCLA but he went for the dream (which I can't fault him, UK is arguably the best job in the country at the college level).

But, he left us with Ron Jirsa, which led us to Jim Harrick and the dark ages. He got his wish at UK and won a title but also left unceremoniously at UK amid death threats and racist name calling claiming "you want to be somewhere you're wanted" . Minnesota gave him his way out and I think he owes it to them to try and build something. Why would you leave somewhere where you've got the foundation built to have success for the next 10 years? Then you can retire. Why start over......at AUBURN of all places?

I have fond memories of his time in Athens but fuck him. He deserves the cold.
