That John Lennon-looking motherfucker loves his polyrhythms. One of the best drummers around at the moment.

Nice tune. Berninger is getting better as a live singer.

Yeah, buzz building for this one. Boxer was an amazing soundtrack to hazy spring nights when it came out.

Yeah the new tunes have definitely peaked my interest. Actually the first Fallon track got under my skin enough to go and grab their debut album which was surprisingly great for me.

I heard the radio rip of "Bloodbuzz Ohio" earlier but I think I'm gonna try and refrain from hearing anymore until the album releases. Gonna be hard, but I think it's personally worth it for this band.

This song is fucking GREAT! I was really stoked for this album before I heard anything off it, but after hearing Terrible Love and Bloodbuzz Ohio, I'm at the point of searching for a leak on an hourly basis.

COME ON!! LEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First one to post High Violet gets a cookie!

yeah. I'm predicting this will be my #1 of 2010, but I've thought that before with highly anticipated albums, and then been let down. Something tells me this won't let me down, regardless of how fucking AMPED I am for this rekid to drop!!

I've got a bad feeling they're gonna repackage too many of their old tricks on this, but I'll see.

(I was carried to Ohio on a swarm of bees --------> Out among the missing sons and daughters of the Soho riots................anyone?)

Will probably be pretty damn good nonetheless.

I listened to this today as well. As I've mentioned before, I'm not sure if I'll ever transition to full on fandom for The National but I liked this one probably more than the last couple and I could actually see playing this again. However, I wish I could hear exactly what it is that drives some of you to the brink to declare them the best band going. I considered this sentiment many times while listening.

While not the best band going, I'd declare them the best semi-well-known American band going.

I keep trying with this band. Every now and then I'll hear something that hits me right, like "Apartment Song", but then I won't find anything else that keeps my attention. This new album sounded easily deleted on first listen, but then the song "Anyone's Ghost" earned it a stay of execution. Now I really want to hear a decent rip of the thing.

So I was going to hold off on hearing this until a proper rip leaked, but I caved this morning and listened through once at work today. Upon first listen Anyones Ghost, Terrible Love, Bloodbuzz Ohio, Lemonworld, and England were stand out tracks for me. Not bad considering I only enjoyed one, maybe two tracks off Alligator and Boxer when I first heard them, and now I consider them both to be "perfect albums".
