hmmm, actually it's more like one those things where i want to enlarge a picture without ruining the quality and making it all pixelated.

i need this enlarged. to the size of something appropriate for a medium or large t-shirt. and all the background white to go away.

there is no way to enlarge a photo and retain its crispness.

the only thing i could recommend, since it is a cartoon, is to import it into illustrator and do a live trace/expansion, fuck with the settings until you get something that looks pretty damn close, and then resize it vector style. kind of a long shot though.

This is really the only way to go about it, and the way it really should be done since it's for printing on a T-shirt.

It could take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours depending on how well the vector trace goes and how much junk it leaves you to deal with. For a really small image, vector traces often come out pretty crappy and require a lot of clean-up. You might even be better off doing it by hand.

yikes. can i print the picture at it's normal size, take it to Staples, and have them enlarge it on a fancy photocopier?

It will look like diseased ass, but sure, you could.

Photoshop doesn't work like it does on those TV shows where they take a four pixel quadrant of security camera footage and blow it up to reveal a clear image of someone's face.
