Peter Wolf - Midnight Souvenirs

After seeing the Peter Wolf thread, I saw this and had some store credit, so I picked it up. And while this album certainly isn't horrible (after 2 spins), both the songwriting and the production leave a lot to be desired. I do like some of the songs, including the song with Neko (probably due to its more stripped down production), but even that song isn't extremely strong. A more raw production would help immensely, but at the end of the day, these songs seem to me like they've all been done before.

Peter Wolf - Lights Out

I bought this one on cassette when it was released, and sold it back at some point in my mid-teens. In other words, this is another album I hadn't listened to in over 25 years. I remember especially liking "I Need You Tonight," which I didn't like nearly as much now as I remember liking it in 1984. To me, this album has better songs than the new one, but really, really suffers from the early 80s production. It's still a fun album, but a few of the songs could have been great if they did not suffer from the use of cheesy synths and glossy production.
