Good as a place to talk about it as any, but I'm digging the hell out of this newfangled electronic subgenre called "Drag" or "Haunted House"

The originators: Salem, were the first to put out doooooowntempo sizzurpy laptronica to be influenced by DJ Screw (Houston rap producer) and the art of Terence Koh.

Guardian article about the "drag" scene

P4K coverage of the scene and Tri Angle records who seem to be at the forefront of putting out the genre's musicians

FB page of Tri Angle

oOoOO's remix of The Big Pink's "Tonight"

RIYL: Knife - Silent Shout, Swishahouse/Chopped and Screwed/sizzurp, Burial, dub, gothy-synth, dark, moody music in general

Have you heard Denver-based Pictureplane (who's stuff on MySpace doesn't all fit nicely into this subgenre) and there's Tearist out of the LA scene and the more psych-oriented Telepathik Friend from Austin (also PPDD of the utmost experimental naturel). I also stumbled across this band Love-Fine from Russia via the Pictureplane dude's blog. Their song "Temperature's Rising" is pretty good bit of gothy/synthy post-punk

I guess this whole subgenre is late '09 - 2010 darker, more sinister answer to chillwave/beachtrip or a group of like-minded hipsters putting their own spin on Goth

Been waiting for this baby since last year! Incredibly original electronics. Top 10 material. Has voiceovers, but not frequent.

Dominic Maker and Kai Campos met at university and began making music together in a home studio in Peckham.

The duo have developed a truly unique sound whose experimental rhythms lend themselves to the fringes of dubstep, wonky and hip hop, but ooze with emotion and echoing ambient soundscapes that take the listener to an entirely different place.

Their EP, released on Hotflush Recordings, has already been well received, with support from pioneering DJs including Mary Anne Hobbs, Scuba, Rob Booth and Ramadanman

Can someone re-up the new Josh Ritter? Finally got around to playing from the earlier d/l link, and even though the tags name the JR songs and all, it's actually Jakob Dylan. NO idea what the fuck, and the Dylan is fine, but I wanted to hear Ritter.

Yeah, it's pretty good even if a little disappointing. They re-did two of the best songs from the debut, and they're still the best songs. Liked it a whole lot more on 2nd listen though.
