Looking at it logically, the Yanks being down 2-1 shouldn't be that shocking even to Yankee fans...

We split in Texas is what you at least hope to do on the road... 1-1
Then we lost to the hottest pitcher in the playoffs at the moment... 0-1
Yanks down 2-1.... I'm not losing sleep...

This is generally how I feel. Splitting the first two on the road was kind of what we should have been hoping for, and losing to Lee was no big surprise. I don't really fear AJ starting either. He might throw up a stinker but there is at least some chance of a dominant outing, and he'll be on a short leash if he doesn't have it. I keep telling myself that as bad as AJ was in the second half, the pitching matchup actually favors the Yankees. Hunter (good record and misleading ERA aside) really stinks. His FIP, xFIP and Sierra are all worse than Burnett's. He has one of the lowest strikeout rates in the league and only two starters with more than 120 IP had higher homerun rates. Plus he really struggles against lefty bats and the Yankees will have 7 leftys or switch hitters in the lineup tonight. This game could really be a slugfest.

The one thing that does scare me is other than one inning in Game 1, only Cano and Granderson are hitting at all. A-Rod can't catch up to a good fastball. Tex is hitless. Posada and Swisher look lost and are chasing garbage out of the strikezone. Tonight is a pivotal game. If they win with CC pitching tomorrow, the momentum goes back to NY. If they can't beat Tommy Hunter at home regardless of who is pitching then they really are in trouble and probably don't deserve to win.

I don't have anything against him. He's a back of the rotation starter that struggles against lefties and in keeping the ball in the park. It seems like a good matchup for the Yankees. That's all.

Yeah, that guy is an uber douchebag.
I've got nothing personal against the Yanks, but I was glad they were smited after that transpired and that the fan interference home run call did not effect the outcome of the game.

I can't believe there might actually be a Giants/Rangers World Series. I will almost certainly watch every game of it, should it actually happen, while nearly every other Baseball fan in the country will choose to focus on the NBA or NFL.
The MLB has to be shitting their pants over the possible record low ratings for it.

Gotta love the elastic band pants guy in the 2nd row dropping the "FUUUUCK YOOOOU". But yeah, those 3 dudes in the front are straight out of central casting for "Yankee Fan".

With CC going in Game 5 I still think this series comes back to Arlington.

I mean, it's not like it's Royals/Pirates. Giants have a pretty big fanbase and Texas is, well, big. I get that the casual fan probably wanted to see the 2 best teams but I'd watch a Giants/Rangers series.

Still a long way to go for that to happen though. Especially in the case of the Giants.

haha - yeah, that's actually my favorite part

my favorite part of the game was watching texeira strain his uterus running to first

you're probably right about cc, derris, but i like our chances of having three games to win one

I don't know. Best records. Hottest teams. Best players. Pitching staffs. Experience.

I've got no love for the Yankees or the Phils (in fact, throw in the Mets and that's my baseball trifecta of hate) but you have to see what I was talking about.

Also, best teams as defined by the regular season. Playoffs are a completely different beast.
