In the past week this has rocketed to my most played 2010 album.

RIYL: ...think Beach House's latest effort, but with even more soaring, dueling guitars vibrating back-and-forth off each other. Believe you me, some of you will cum all over this records face, or I'll eat my own rubbish.

Baltimore rep! They're actually touring off and on with BH. Great band. Glad they're getting some recognition. I really dig this record as well.

No problem, glad you're digging it. :D

multiple listens in and this is one of my top albums of the year.

Love it. Has taken well to a "played at least once a day" role.

That Lower Dens record is absolutely fantastic - and yes, completely immediate for me.

Does anyone have a good link for the new Brian McBride album/soundtrack "The Effective Disconnect" on Kranky?
I saw a bunch of Web Sherriff notes on all the links.
Need to buy/order this but really want to hear it now. Absolutely love Stars of the Lid and the clip I've heard of this so far was gorgeous.

I checked out the Lower Dens today. It has enough redeeming moments that I'll spin it again, but it's not setting my hair on fire by any stretch.

I didn't hate it by any means, but I'm pretty sure I could if I tried with the way people are talking about it. Actually, I can't remember a single thing about it, it had that big of an impact on me. This'll be one of those albums exactly no one is talking about come January.

I am sort of in the same boat here and 90% of the songs seem like they just gave up on trying to conclude it so they all just sort of stop playing instruments arbitrarily. They all just sort of end without any sort of cohesion. It's not bad and I like the general tone to it all, but it's not something I will return to much after 3 listens.
