First trailer is out. Though, here is a fake trailer made by some video editor using Nathan Fillion as Hal Jordan:

The trailer is still holding back lots of cool stuff. There are plenty of aliens and the Guardians of the Universe and enemies to yet be seen, and the trailer doesn’t even hint at how big the film gets in the end. This trailer establishes the character and concept for the audience (although following “Whatever I see in my mind I can make” or whatever that line is with a big green fist is limiting. There are better constructs in the film than fists). I’m interested in seeing whether or not WB cuts a trailer for the geeks.

When is Hollywood going to quit selling Ryan Reynolds as an action star.

easy answer: probably when his films quit making money

more involved answer: because he's one of the few "name" actors at the moment that is recognizable, but is still bankable in both action and comedy. Plus, he's pretty much down to do any comic book movie. I mean, he did Blade, Wolverine, Green Lantern, and soon will be doing a Deadpool spinoff from Wolverine. He's also one of those actors that the guys don't really mind, and the girls love. Mass appeal will get you everywhere.

I have no problem with him either.

The movies that he's in that are shitty aren't shitty because of him. It's shitty writing and directing.

This Green Lantern movie doesn't look too promising. Pretty tough one to pull off, though, I think.

I always loved the GL on Super Friends, but that is the extent of my knowledge. It seems like it would be a tough one to pull off, though.

Reynolds just has a bit of a doofus/douchebag look. Like a cross between Billy Zabka and Zac Morris - but I neither like nor hate him.
